I more so view Christianity as a mythology. Similar to e.g. the Egyptian one. So it's interesting to see what kind of art can be created in that framework. The Binding of Isaac is legitimately satanic. And the fact that it subverts a biblical story and imagery is only part of it.
The game has a very dark story which is then undermined by the game's mechanics. For example, Isaac can make a deal with the Devil or God, but the decision loses its moral dimension and becomes a simple question of what's more beneficial for the run, which is only reinforced the longer you play the game. Isaac's soul is treated as a commodity.
And the DLC make it worse because we can see how the game markets itself. It promises new items, bosses, levels and so on. It promises "fun"
which is built on top of childhood trauma.

It's literally not that deep. Satanism can be interesting from a storytelling perspective, because you can frame it as going against the corrupt establishment (God). The God of the old testament is a complete bastard, so you can play around with that. Plus a lot of ideas about Satan or hell in the Christian tradition don't even come from the Bible, but form Dante's works.
