I realized this when I saw that Scott actually DOES like to add extras and loose ends to all his storytelling, and that often things do NOT come full circle.

Scott introduced him in FNAF 2 but nobody ever gave a shit about his possession, the victim inside him, and so forth. And that is by design: Scott does this thing, he frequently adds parts to the story and they do NOT connect with other parts.

No, you misunderstand. The events surrounding the murders are real. The specific events featured in the original games are fictional. Like a "based on a true story" movie. This is because devs don't have knowledge about how hell works or the specific things someone did that were not published in the media like secret laboratories. This is why there are so many "retcons" in steel wool's continuity. Because these retcons are the "real" version of the events instead of the dictionalized version.
