Mostly because they were tired of stuff like that for Heavensward and Stormblood where you could whip a party out of your ass with no explanation, and canonically you had to solo it.

I'm pretty sure that before that point having a group of adventurers you gathered was that canonical excuse for most of it, with some exceptions as the story progressed through Stormblood. Obviously in ShB that couldn't as easily be the case and it was implied solo until you started calling in others from beyond the rift like Graha. Its was made that final fight so cool. I don't care for them overusing it now desu.

Dravania isn't actually in Ishgard, and it's only the gates that were hard to get into. It wouldn't be any harder to get people to Ravana than it would be to get them to Coerthas Central Highlands. Susano was a handwave and a half though.

Today I decided to demolish my house because, since I decided to don't play anymore for a while, it would have been nice to free a plot for someone that wanted an house and could have used it more than me.

BUT just a moment before pressing "Relinquish land" I discovered that if you relinquish your land by your own will you will get 0 gils, while auto-demolition will give you the 80% of the plot value. That's bad intentional design, there only to oblige you to re-sub in 45 days to recover millions of gils. So I let you guess what game will have an ugly empty plot until late September.

I know, it's money in a game, but I grinded a lot for them and it would be a pain to lose all these money just because SE must squeeze from me 10 more €.

The lack of inventory space in this game is baffling. Im extremely picky about what i drop in my glam dresser. Have virtually no role specific or any kind of leveling gear mainly just universal level 1 glams which takes away from any sort of unique creativity. Yet im always having to remove stuff to bounce against the 800 limit. Yet they keep adding more outfits without increasing space. Ive got all lvl 100 jobs which probably doesnt help either. The fact that a very limited amount job quest, role quest gear, and even msq scion gear dont dump into armoire is wack. Same thing with on hand space and armory chest. Stuff id like to keep but cant justify over more important items so either get discarded or dropped in retainers. I dont even have to organize my wardrobe irl this much yet i gotta be Marie fkn Kondo in this game. They might as well add survival horror elements in this game lol

just to make sure I'm getting this right - to trigger the auto demo which is the only way to get the payout from the plot, you need to wait 45 days. but then you only have 35 days to claim the gil or it will be lost forever. that means you have to sub an entire extra month if your sub was running out in less than 45 days?

One of my biggest gripes with CS3 is their absolute refusal and disdain for patching content they already released. Please, patch/nerf/change Forked Tower if its not meeting expectations. We went all of 6.1-6.55 watching them dump content that died on release like Criterion/Eureka Orthos, lets never do that again. That content could have easily been saved with hotfixes and patches, but they chose not to and as a result the post of Endwalker is remembered as some of the shittiest times in this game's history.

Considering Yoshida in his latest interview said that he set up an emergency special group of 70-80 devs to play through Cosmic Explorers and make them do the content so they discover what is fun and what is not, that was from the recent batch of interviews released.

The ability to skip rooms on this dungeon is actually super reliant on your PC hardware and coordination. You must click the portal and then click yes - before a single auto attack hits you.

So the strategy is "totally viable" until someone pulls a mob, or someone can't click and hit enter within one tenth of a second. And both of these are wildly, incredibly common. Making your 'totally viable' strategy commonly pan out as a failure, and a bad gaming experience for the players.

This change is to avoid that bad gaming experience, especially since this is a level 30 dungeon, meaning it would be happening to fairly new players.

Meteor just gives ruin stacks, it needs 3 people to fuck it up to actually cause a wipe.

No one actually trying to not intentionally troll is going to step into a super trap.

A new player being helped by experienced players is not the one tanking bridges.

Rune Axe and Holy Lance also just give ruin stacks, though it's an actual problem here unlike in demon tabltet.

What I'm getting at is that, for one, people vastly overstate how easily an individual can wipe the raid in FT, but more importantly, that Dead Stars specifically is the odd one out. It's fine for magitaur to have a bit more risk since it is the final boss and you already have most of the rewards by the time you fight him, but Dead Stars is the real problem when it comes to dragging newbies through FT.

We're currently in an expansion with a sci-fi land so some super retarded shit, but even then it was falling victim to a mix of anime-isms with silly outfits and bikinis, Final Fantasy cosplays of recreating series outfits, and gaudier and gaudier fantasy gear in general because MMO escalation. There are some really good Savage fights that feel good to progress through, but the group coordination and puzzle mechanics are the main barrier for progression.

One of the best fights in the game, is Rathalos. It has an arcade-y design where there are no jump rope mechanics, but instead a core mechanic that all players can manage.

That’s nice, but story and combat are the apex of the genre. That’s why XIV stands on the top of it all.

Exploration is nice the first time around. Combat is what your players are doing 95% of the time in endgame modes. That’s the reality of the genre.

Glamour shit and open worlds and all the rest are fucking useless outside of the moment, and I like dragonflight and ESOs dungeons and PSO2’s exploration and all that stuff.

But they can’t beat the narrative and the boss battles XIV presents.

Fairly sure people shit on WoW's PvP as well.
Personally (so anecdotal) I can stand XIV's PvP more than WoW's. Specifically Crystalline Conflict. Frontlines is a clusterfuck I won't even bother to do anything with other than daily frontline roulette.
But also I'm not a PvPer, so being able to tolerate one over the other may mean very little.

I was alright with the combat until BfA but probably more specifically Legion (I just didn't realize it yet)
Even now, I'd say WoD Shadowmoon Valley is a great looking zone. Take me to a Shadowlands or Dragonflight zone and I'll just fine it unsightly.

The reason I don't enjoy WoW anymore is because as a game, it just feels like there's nothing to care about. It feels like what was once a fairly broad game with a lot of fat around the edges that had its charm has been stripped down to its bare essentials to basically become an impersonal seasonal co-opt queue game like Marvel Rivals, or Tekken. And don't get me wrong: these are great games, but they're not games you form an attachment to. MMORPGs are built around forming an attachment. To your character, to the world, to the story, to whatever.
Marvel Rivals (or Overwatch) is fun, but it's a game I sporadically pick up and then set down and don't really feel drawn towards other than when I'm bored and I get the itch to indulge in that gameplay.
I feel the same way about modern WoW.

Your average coop survival crafter is more of an MMO than any of the big gay 3 games attributed that tag. That said crafting has no solution without throwing out most of what already exists and honestly they should just do that and move the game into an evergreen state where each different kind of crafting is a separate interactive suite. Put each one behind a load screen if necessary but that's the only way you'll be able to focus the game on something that's actually playable without making another shitty reductive menu sim that's worse than DS games from 20 years ago.
