No, it was dumb 15 years ago when i first read it, it's even worse now. The only good "arc" is the one with the baker and his defective robot wife, it's funny because the solution seems easy (clone her HDD), but then you remember that there ARE devices irl with tons of DRM or just so stupidly designed (GB games with batteries) that you can't repair them no matter what. And even if there was a way to repair her, the baker would effectively would just be replacing his dying wife with a perfect clone, so his solution (just letting her die and then fellating a shotgun) is the "right" one.
