I liked The Third Age and Battle for Middle Earth. War in the north was fun with a friend, and I hear good things about LotR Online, too bad it's basically dead.
Also, Lego LotR is one of the best ones.

Return of the King on GBA was a Diablo clone and had 4 different storylines depending on what character you play as. It had no right being as good as it was for a fucking GBA game.
