There is enough buildcraft in 2.0's systems. You can spend a decent bit of time hunting down the items you need and picking amongst perks.
The are some big problems like the combat being too easy. For example, if they made it so that once you run out of healing and back yourself in a corner the enemy AI would start pushing your shit in, then you would actually have a real challenge and a need to use more tools than just "hip firing lul". That and nerf some numbers and it would start looking good.
Thing is, it took them years to come up with CP2077's most basic mechanics, then years again to come up with a proper perks/stats/cyberware system. Shit seems to be real tough for them to do, despite the TTRPG existing.
This is where I would have some (maybe naive) hope that Orion can deliver something truly next-level. Surely after having made two different iterations of 2077 they'll have learned some lessons...
