I've played a few Chinese games because they happened to be genres I really liked, and they've all been awful. The Chinese can't design games, because they have no creative spirit. Murim is basically the same as Murim/Xianxia just Korean mostly focused on the lower tiers of cultivation powers typically speaking and they refer to Xianxia as Cultivator stories instead, they even share the same Hanzi for both because their genre is literally rooted in those stories lol. Funnily enough the term is Knight's Errant literature and they feature a "Youxia" travelling warrior folk hero going around slaying bandits and monsters, Japanese have the term Yuusha as in Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (rising of the shield hero) derived from the same genre of literature. Herakles for example would be a Greek Yuusha and King Arthur would be an English Yuusha. All "Knight-Errant" stories in a way.

I think somebody should do a Chinese fantasy game the same way Tolkien did the LotR universe: pure high fantasy, but inspired Chinese mythology and Buddhism (the same way LotR was inspired by Northern European mythology and Catholic Christianity).

BTW, if you want another Balatro clone but with absurdly high production value for the genre, look into Demonic Mahjong. Like Mahjong Soul, but everyone is fully modeled (even major items have 3D models and the arenas are animated), everyone except the children is fanserviced to 11, some of the builds legit force you to think for a minute or two before doing a move and the difficulty gets ballbustingly, Century of Humiliation-tier hard once upper limits for enemies get removed on Difficulty 3 (out of 9). I thought about recommending it to a lady I know who's interested in mahjong, but I fear God will send me directly to Chinese Hell and leave me without Chinese Hell Money for suggesting this mind crack to another person. I haven't yet seen a Chinese game which looked appealing to me, at least not a released one. I don't know what wuxia or xianxia are. I think there was some Chinese game based around Arthurian myth that looked cool and another one about some alternate history where America ended up being bought out by Japan or something like that. Both of those look potentially cool, maybe I'll play them if / when they're out.
