Ever since #1 I've wanted a summoner. Something that could maybe summon up a bunch of things like the gremlins.

The hand summoning guy in the trailer looks ok, but I need more lil things to summon. Not just one

This. New designs are fucking terrible.
IIRC a dev said he can't draw for shit, but somehow he managed to make cool minimalistic character designs for the original game. Whoever taught him to draw since made it much worse.

>Some sort of long term investment like early run options that don't pay off till act 3

Hoping for as good as STS1 with a different stack of events/encounters/relics/characters/etc. Since the first is still head and shoulders above the deckbuilder competition it's POSSIBLE lightning will strike again, but I don't really expect it. But I also played so much of the first that I'll buy this as soon as I can (Barring some stupid price jump, in which case they can get fucked) because they got that much goodwill out of me

For the entire first floor not to boring, plodding, overlong and stupid.
Game should be hard but honestly that first part of the run is so fucking dull every time.
That's the biggest thing that needs fixing.
