just press attack buttons and heal buttons and destress, and of course have all those in your team, and make sure you can hit back ranks - its not hard
only the bosses are gimmicks designed to fuck you over 1st time - so you might want to look them up to not waste time

Have all classes available so you can rotate without too much stress building. Also like the above guy said, spoil yourself on the bosses if you get assguttered by one. There's no way to know X boss will fly into an unstoppable double-damage rage if you kill Y unless you actually do it, which is shitty game design.

That's the first game. DD2 stress only goes up to 10 and it's punish is giving you shitty relationships.

>DD1
>set up team for an expedition
>set up trinkets
>press escape and back out to the hamlet because I wanted to double check their blacksmith/guild upgrades
>go back to embark screen
>the game sneakily switched which mission was selected and ended up sending me somewhere entirely different
>lost out on a Focus Ring

Oh my bad, I see Darkest Dungeon and I forget the 2nd game existed.

I feel the same way. I vastly prefer the first game. I liked that sorta xcom feel it had of building your base and units up and how bite-sized the dungeons felt compared to 2's long ass expeditions that felt like it dragged too long.
