I'm excited and obviously I won't pre order and likely only buy below 25 dollars, but I just know that after 3 months no matter what they will pivot the game to the retardation that is a live service games, so jarring skins, focus on BR, tweaks that are more akin to 2042 kind of design, etc... they just can't avoid it.
The marketing for 2042 knew what kind of game people wanted, it's why it seemed like a comeback, so they know what is the product fans want, but they have this inevitable impulse to chase trends to have that fortnite money making machine. I was until i saw no server browser, except the one that exists is tied to Portal. Not the main game, and even when it might reach the main game it's likely using a system similar to Portal. If i buy Dice's game then I'm playing something with a short expiration date. We either go back to how it was on BF3 & BF4 or no deal. It's too late for them to change it at this point, i know how the releases go. So I'll have to avoid it.

BC2 is pretty similar to BF3. It's 2142 and earlier that are the real boomer Battlefields. Games with limited stamina and really high spread increase so half the time you're shooting in semi auto. They play totally differently.

You've never done a drone flyover or soflam to look at the map near the end of the match, there's plenty of terrain deformation and destruction going on that make it look like a battle took place there. When you joined a match that was the first battle taking place in those locations according to the lore. I also don't believe that they wouldn't have gradually edited the maps to how they are in the reworks to show that prolonged warfare was taking place in the region.

I don't have any data myself but from what I saw carbines are 5 BTK ARs instead of 4 BTK ARs with significantly less recoil, or SMGs with less severe damage dropoff. If ARs has increased recoil like we saw from some of the latest Labs leaks then carbines will have their own niche too.

To be quite frank with you famalam I never had any issue learning another gun and laserbeaming with it at appropriate ranges in bf3 or 4, I simply never observed the perceived gun meta other than running some S-tier guns like AEK on and off. Your weapon selection restricts you not your class selection. If you had a shotgun you will always rush towards enemies regardless of your class, that's why recon shotgun was a pouplar combo, spawn beacon + pokeballs/TUGS + a weapon type that melts in close range. If you had a DMR you would always want to keep some distance regardless of your class, doesn't matter if it was assault or engineer.

But wasn't the reason Dice gifted us this awful portal like system for joining instances (instead of servers) is that we don't need server rentals anymore because they're hosting it all for us? and that saves on costs. So why do we still get gimped tickrates that don't match BF4 if the costs have been reduced? they've gutted a traditional server browser, but at the the same time have run into a little bit of a contradiction on their stance for getting rid of it because they can't provide us with higher tickrates whilst reducing said costs. Gadgets are more important than weapons. Always has been. If a engineer can use an AR instead of an SMG will that make him less effective against tanks? If a support can use an SMG instead of an LMG will that make him less effective in healing/supplying? If a recon can use an SMG instead of a sniper will that make him a worse team player or would it make recon a better team player due to spawn beacons and other spotting being available near to action? Hell it makes less sense for assault, assault plays close to action, should be able to use ARs, SMGs,carbines, shotguns. All close range weapons designed for tip of the spear.
