Peak SWG was around JTL launch, the Jedi grind was already a significant drag at that point but JTL was the first part of that game that was actually good and mostly functional, and most of the classes worked to some degree by that point. I'm still fucking dumbfounded that they ALMOST had the game fixed with all classes working (though a lot of them sucked) around the time of the CU, then they utterly fucked themselves chasing the WoW audience.

Some of the devs coped by saying the game was dying and they had to do something but it's like, the game was dying because the Jedi grind was destroying the community and sending everyone into a macro frenzy to unlock it. Jedi never should have been an option, Jedi should have been a dev/GM role or something they rarely handed out to select roleplayers and kept it a complete mystery. Once people figured out the holocron shit all anyone ever did was grind classes which made everyone miserable chasing the Jedi slot.

Two of the biggest waste of potentials was Consular and Inquisitor. Consular does what Inquisitor didn't do which is build a powerbase. Inquisitor is basically your guy constantly eats shit and is handed diamonds on a silver platter right after. No sith magic lore or anything. Consular I've warmed up to a lot the more I replayed it but it drops story beats each chapter. I really wish they didn't change writers each chapter in the class stories. Agent is the only story that holds up at all in quality.
