The problem is the structure of SN fucks over Sakura. Her route and backstory twists are kept hidden in most of the game, so she has very minimal presence in fate and UBW. In HF she stays in bed for the first half then fucks off as a villain in the last half, denied presence and characterization. A lot of it was due to HF absorbing Illya's route. I think Nasu realized the bad hand he dealt Sakura and actively changed her in HA.

The Realta Nua version didn't just axe the sex scenes but modified all mentions of sex. Including stuff that ties in with character backgrounds and motivations that you don't see but hear it mentioned. The fan translation has an option to disable the sex scenes but still keep the sexual references in. So porn is not a big factor in this.
