I was more than ok with her sparing Abby. The whole point of the game was to end the cycle of revenge they were in. Killing her wouldn't have made her feel better, and it definitely wouldn't have made me feel better. Maybe some of the players sure, but at the end of the day it isn't about the player. I think many people also wanted Abby to live after seeing what she's been through, me included. Overall i think she suffered more than Ellie. Especially those 2 months with the Rattlers. The Joel flashback while she was drowning her was perfect. It meant that she found some peace by just defeating her. Overall i liked it. BUT i do wish the entire story from the very start was different.

generally agree with you. I empathize more with Elly than Abby though - I really resonated with her grief, particularly the flashbacks and her journal art and poetry. That said, Abby did deserve to live.
The only thing I dislike about the ending is the "porch scene vision" at the end when Ellie spared Abby - it was a bit cheap to place it exactly when she was about to kill Abby, it doesnt sit right with me that it was placed at this sequence of extreme emotion for the ultimate dramatic effect. Too on-the-nose, when it should have been more subtle or maybe focus on Lev and how it mirrors her relationship with Joel. Then they can still play the flashback at the end which should tie it nicely. idk I'm no game director though

I love bleak and cynical storylines and this one was legendary in that aspect. I never wanted joel and ellie adventures part 2 like everyone else and this game delivered bigly.

Agreed. HOWEVER. They could have made a better story. Abby's campaign was great but Abby herself is the hugest misfire ND has ever implemented. All 2 needed was an Ellie revenge story showing her descent into loneliness and paranoia.

No. Days Gone is the closest, Deacon is a great protagonist and his psychotic mumblings are kino. Slow start but let the game take you to gun and bicycle customization and you're in for a great time. Then play Uncharted 1-4 and Lost Legacy. I personally wouldn't recommend God of War. But Days Gone is perfectly bleak, violent, cynical and pretty to look at.

Yes. Part 1 remaster shouldn't even exist. It's ugly as sin. Part 1 is a feel food blockbuster hit and the original aesthetic matches it. Pt. 2 is arthouse grime and is appropriately grittier as a result. Pt. 2's style applies to 1 is ugly. Just play the remaster.

not basement dwellers, shills. although I suppose there is some overlap there. I do often wonder how one can get a job at one of these online "reputation management firms" but it's probably unrealistic unless you want to slave away for literal pennies like some kinda amazon mechanical turk bot, though I'm sure that shit will be offloaded to AI soon enough if it hasn't been already.
>>717092605
yeah because the multiplayer is intact, and that's what you want. part 1 on ps5/PC doesn't have multiplayer, which is a crying shame. trust me, you'll play through the main story faster than a laxative through a bulimic's stomach, and once you're done with it, you'll want for something more, which part 1 doesn't have. also the visuals are slightly better because the part 1 remaster fucked with some character's proportion or so I've heard being said around here.

Oh yeah, remember how this super duper serious game taking place in a super duper realistic world has this one section where it becomes Uncharted for some reason and Abby falls off a skyscraper aerial bridge, through a convenient glass ceiling and into A POOL THAT STILL HAS WATER TWO DECADES AFTER THE END OF THE WORLD in an abandoned building? Killing her wouldn't have made her feel better, and it definitely wouldn't have made me feel better. Maybe some of the players sure, but at the end of the day it isn't about the player. I think many people also wanted Abby to live after seeing what she's been through, me included. Overall i think she suffered more than Ellie. Especially those 2 months with the Rattlers. The Joel flashback while she was drowning her was perfect. It meant that she found some peace by just defeating her"

1. lack of enemy variety. there's maybe 4 or 5 zombie types and they don't vary enough in abilities to make much of a difference in gameplay. same goes for human enemies.
2. stealth focus is undermined by a lack of a method of evasion, i.e. once you're in combat you stay in combat and that's that
3. enemies are retarded, they won't investigate fallen comrades, won't alter their patrols to compensate for lost personnel, there are no alert phases, it's just "detected" or "not detected"
4. having a consumable lethal silent takedown fucking sucks
5. weapon upgrades are linear in nature, i.e. you can only upgrade a weapon once you've discovered it, and you must unlock "tier2/tier3, etc" before you can upgrade the weapon further. on its own this isn't a problem necessarily, but the pacing of the game means that your upgrade schedule is tightly controlled. on NG+ you don't get access to your weapons from the start, which makes NG+ pointless
6. the game's item crafting works against you by forcing multiple recipes to use overlapping materials, so have fun with a full inventory of rags but zero alcohol.
7. enemy behavior is very simplistic and underwhelming
8. a bullet to the arm is as effective as any other part of the body excluding the head, can't trip up or disarm enemies with well placed limb shots
9. time wasting "puzzles" and force walkie-talkie dialog segments on top of shitty QTE events
10. zero boss battles
I'm talking about the first game, I don't know about the second but I imagine it's not much different.

Same here. I participated in all of the memes in 2020, and knew the general plotline. Then, after hearing a random youtuber teardown of it where he complained that it's bad because it's basically misery porn, I was like "wow that sounds cool, I like misery porn". Then I played it (and the first one of course) and they're actually cool games. Never listen to /v/ or normalfags on the internet in general.
