>>7170945121. lack of enemy variety. there's maybe 4 or 5 zombie types and they don't vary enough in abilities to make much of a difference in gameplay. same goes for human enemies.
2. stealth focus is undermined by a lack of a method of evasion, i.e. once you're in combat you stay in combat and that's that
3. enemies are retarded, they won't investigate fallen comrades, won't alter their patrols to compensate for lost personnel, there are no alert phases, it's just "detected" or "not detected"
4. having a consumable lethal silent takedown fucking sucks
5. weapon upgrades are linear in nature, i.e. you can only upgrade a weapon once you've discovered it, and you must unlock "tier2/tier3, etc" before you can upgrade the weapon further. on its own this isn't a problem necessarily, but the pacing of the game means that your upgrade schedule is tightly controlled. on NG+ you don't get access to your weapons from the start, which makes NG+ pointless
6. the game's item crafting works against you by forcing multiple recipes to use overlapping materials, so have fun with a full inventory of rags but zero alcohol.
7. enemy behavior is very simplistic and underwhelming
8. a bullet to the arm is as effective as any other part of the body excluding the head, can't trip up or disarm enemies with well placed limb shots
9. time wasting "puzzles" and force walkie-talkie dialog segments on top of shitty QTE events
10. zero boss battles
I'm talking about the first game, I don't know about the second but I imagine it's not much different.
