I respect the fuck out of CC2 for taking on all the licensed anime slop they can take just to fund their passion projects like LTB series and Asura's Wrath. Self-publishing Fuga so that they don't go into limbo like Solatorobo and Asura is extra based too. I look at that dogshit Demon Slayer Mario Party clone as direct Fuga funding which makes me appreciate it in a roundabout way.

Apparently from a new interview, the reason for this is that Matsuyama had decided from the start that it'd be a trilogy as has been stated before but did not inform anybody whatsoever until the very end of development. Such a genius CEO!

It explains why the foreshadowing is so forced in and minimal in the first game. There's pretty much just Malt remembering the rewind in chapter 1, Lunet's comics, and the Jihl cameo. I question why it even needed to be a trilogy and not just one long game. Matsuyama is a total numbskull.

So is 3's gameplay the best in the trilogy at least despite gripes with the storytelling? I considered 2 about a sidegrade since it was a mechanical improvement but nowhere near as effective as a total package (the tacked-on morality system being the one mechanic that felt like a step back).

It's easily the worst. It's so braindead easy. None of the mechanics are balanced and feel like they were all added without consideration for how they'd work together. Burst attacks a complete downgrade from link attacks too. Fuga 3 strips so much of the strategy from the game.

Same, I loved doing that in 1 and 2. It really saved my ass in some of the elite battles, especially in 2's NG+. I hate hate hate that they made the link attack gauge universal and automatic as soon as it fills up in 3. You can barely strategize around it, and it doesn't even carry over between battles. That mixed with the deluge of randomly activating leader skills makes battles so easy because the game will decide to just hand you a win nonstop.

Combo's made the game a bit too easy, you don't even have to worry about debuffing anything outside of bosses. Wappa was ridiculously overpowered this game when I rarely used her in the first or second since debuffs for damage mitigation was king and her wappa special at a 200% combo rating could wipeout literally any minor enemy encounter.

Chick's Cheerful Dance is stupidly OP too for healing. Hardly ever used Hanna when I'd rather have Wappa on the team for grenade launcher. Even without a 200% combo, you can get back to full health incredibly easily. She has the tag team shot skill for building combos too.

Is it excessive? Sure. Would it have been better if these scenes weren't included? Certainly. But it isn't as bad as people paint it, like you don't even see anything other than the kid being embarrassed and hear anything other than running water, it doesn't even come off as necessarily fetishistic in its presentation.

Supposedly, but all the mechanics of the time travel in Fuga make no sense. They constantly make it seem as if the bad timelines are just visions while Jeanne explicitly refers to her timelines as simulations, but Fuga 3 also treats them as actual alternate timelines several times. In Fuga 1, Malt is somehow aware of the rewind even though their death was supposed to be a simulation. It's so messy.

I really wish Fuga 3 explained the origins of their powers whatsoever instead of them just being like that. I know Maestro has a throwaway line that he gave them their powers, but that makes no sense and still doesn't explain anything, especially Quynne, an unrelated Hybrid from a thousand years later, seemingly also using it and being an expert on it.

I have never met a normal Blutwurst fan. Last one I met was a teenage DID larper who claimed to have a bunch of Fuga character "alters." Though I hardly meet Blutwurst fans in general because he's just not that interesting of a character beyond the Felineko self-racism aspect and being really evil. CC2 completely fumbled their chance to make him compelling in Fuga 3.

I really wish Flam stayed dead and wasn't brought back. She was simple, but her writing in Fuga 1 was effective. I like her Fuga 1 design more too. It was more tasteful.

You mean Catherine? I liked her, but I wish CC2 actually showed any of the humans' faces.

The blatant fanservice with characters like Tiere in 3 felt embarrassing. It was so obviously done just to get some easy attention. The character designer of the first two games never felt the need to do that.

Nice to see anon with similar opinions about the sequels.

At this point it's wishful thinking, but I assume over the top sequels COULD work, just not with the OG cast, just make a band of misfits who happen to find the Taranis and go on a real adventure, it doesn't even have to be a dozen.
Kids should retire after first game and enjoy rest of their relatively normal life.

I think they needed to be bolder with gameplay additions too. The gameplay outside of battle sorely needed an overhaul, but they hardly touched it in the sequels besides some minor additions and changes. Most of all though, I just don't think there needed to be more than one Fuga game. It worked best as a single small experience. I really do not look forward to the noir game with how shit Fuga's writing and presentation ended up being, but at the very least, we now have explicit confirmation it's not going to be the same kind of game.
>>717116856
Everything revolving around the Scarlet Order pisses me off. Absolute dogshit intentionally mysterious sequel bait. Love how it's so tonally incongruent with the rest of the game just so they can set up the next game with edgy Malt.

All that bad end future shit is non-canon and won't be going anywhere. It was all fucking pointless, and likely made for the purpose of fucking with early leakers. The fact that 3 literally just ends is unbelievably frustrating. Now they're too busy shilling DLC costumes.

Nope, I was hoping for more downtime too, but they never add more. Just the same rigamarole of intermissions and the few NPCs you can talk to between chapters. The dungeon expeditions get a few new elements but are largely the same. And still no Russians either because Strelka continues to stay in limbo.
>>717118024
As much as I would love for it to be abandoned, this is pure delusion. It all obviously ties into the secret movie, and Matsuyama talks about how they're already starting on the next LTB game in the new interview the official Japanese account retweeted a few days ago. The new illustrations for the October Fuga exhibit are absolutely going to be including related illustrations too since they're supposed to be "depicting the past not shown in the main game and the future after the ending!" I'm certain the Malt and Wappa illustration will be edgy Malt with big titty heroine Wappa.

How exactly? And do you really think they wouldn't pull more time travel bullshit in the next game? The secret movie exists, is concretely a teaser for the next game, and depicts edgy adult Malt whether you like it or not.

No??? The Fuga 2 secret movie teased Boron's ancestor being a legendary warrior, which is exactly what Fuga 3 revealed. Even aside from small details changing because things change during development, Fuga 2 and 3 were both teased in secret movies and happened more or less as depicted.

I wish it was more difficult, but I still like it a lot unlike a certain recent extremely easy LTB game because it has more going for it than just the combat. Quest design, world design, characters, world, presentation, all great.
Man, I can't wait for LTB to go back to the level of technology in TC and SR. Finally seeing what looks like Abyssinia in the next game might be cool, but I'd really prefer to see it in its modern state instead of still being stuck in the Fuga era. A huge part of the appeal of LTB's world before Fuga was the technology, and it feels like they're forgetting that.

I think Fuga still presents the technological aspects well, the machines are impressive but since it draws a lot from WW1/WW2 machinery it still feels a low-tech, even if some of the technology presented is actually pretty advanced, just for the scale and complexity if you think about it. But I agree, the personal mechs and airships from SL-TC are a bit more appealing to me.

It scratches the itch of still being out there compared to IRL tech, but it's part of why I wish Fuga was just the first game. It's a cool little thing to do once as a twist from the usual LTB setting, but three, soon(?) to be four, games of it is just too much. I love the cool robots and advanced infrastructure uniquely suited to LTB's world in the sky. Places like Pharaoh in Solatorobo are so captivating. Outside of the war vehicles, the world of Fuga just feels too normal.
On another note, Alicia is so bad. I miss the old LTB character designers. They just don't make hot LTB babes like they used to.
