Legend of Lint

You know what's silly is the """LEGEND""" always say
>and the hero wore a green tunic and that's that, end of discussion :)

But, uh, you know, a lot of times he didn't.

Think about it though, you don't usually interact with too many people once you've gotten other tunics. The people who'd be passing down legends saw Link's early game heroics, not his lategame struggles in deep dungeons.

Then they'd probably say some shit like
>and he did it all with a little rusty bitch sword, too!

I was always partial to blue tunics and mirror shields.

The Master Sword's legend was separately established prior to legends about the hero. But if we break down the games prior to Wind Waker when the "green clothes worn by the hero" thing was first stated:
>Zelda 1 has hardly any people in general and no master sword
>Zelda 2 really is entirely done in a green tunic with a regular sword
>Link to the Past has the Master Sword but not a hero legend and the tunics are lategame
>OoT doesn't have a hero legend and the tunics are only worn by adult Link, thus nullified at the end (and if you want to go with the timeline split stuff then he still would've met all relevant parties wearing green first)
>Link's Awakening was a dream and the color tunics weren't real anyway
The hero wore green as far as the majority of people who met him would say. The people who might've seen him wearing the other tunics still saw him in green first.

Also thinking about LTTP specifically, the people of Hyrule would only know that a boy wearing green retrieved the Master Sword and slew the evil wizard Agahnim with it. They don't even know that any of the Dark World shit happened at all. The last interaction with Light World people would be having the blacksmiths reforge the sword, and you'd still be in green at that point.
