Discworld needs more video games. It's unreal that with the open-world fever of the past two decades and the million bland, uninteresting wankfests attempting to portray large, detailed worlds, we never really got any adaptations of this series set on an entire fictional planet.

That's harsh, Rhianna herself said that Discworld is her father's work and that she sees it as her duty to protect it against everyone, including herself. And objectively speaking she's doing a good job so far (the Watch tv show that got cancelled in one season pre-dated Terry's death, so she had no say in it)

Not it's "I Shall Wear Midnight". People always forget the Tiffany Aching books, which is a shame because they're like the classic Witches books but without the third witch POV that is always way less good than Granny Weatherwax's or Nanny Ogg's...

I liked when he literally drew Twoflower with four eyes in his face in the cover of the first book when the character just wore glasses.
Just because Rincewind confuses the glasses for extra eyes and describes him as having four eyes.

My two bits no one asked for on ranking Discworld series
>City Watch : absolutely the most consistently good one up until Snuff, hard carried by Vimes but watching the cast go from "four guys with trucheons trying to not get beat up too much" to the greatest legal organisation of the setting is a big draw. Also good whenever the cast show up in other books.
>Witches : almost tied with City Watch, Weatherwav and Ogg are the best and have basically NO bad POV. But sadly the third witch (whether it's Magrat or Agnes) is always horrifically, horrifically dull.
>Moist von Lipwig : really good series (at least the first two books) that sadly had to be shorter than what Pratchett intended (because he died). Unconventional protagonist and coming into the Discworld when the setting was already fully fleshed out helped a lot
>Tiffany Aching : Witches series but with a younger protagonist. Underrated as fuck but nothing much to say about them, Pratchett probably wrote these books because he was sick of Ankh-Morpork
>Death : overrated as fuck. Death is usually fine (probably why Reaper Man is the best of his novel and probably in the top 5 Discworld overall), but holy hell everyone else he has to share the splotlight with is so dull, ESPECIALLY Susan.
>Wizards : the worst series BY FAR, Rincewind isn't funny or interesting and Ridcully can't carry the load alone. It's so boring that most of the recurring characters don't even have names.

Concerning the various oneshots novels, it goes :
Small Gods > Thief of Time (technically Death, but the best part is the standalone characters) > The Truth > Monstrous Regiment > Pyramids > Moving Picture

Small Gods being, of course, easily above most others Discworld novels.

Never read the Amazing Maurice, never got the impression I missed much.

Witty fantasy series, as the books go on you get more reoccurring casts and a sense of the world advancing but you can still just pick a book and read. Wizards are also pretty based in it, they used to just pick a spot they liked and summoned a wizard tower to then just throw magical nukes at everyone else's tower until the creation of the wizard university wglhich keeps them fat and lazy but still willing to summon Death to help find some lost keys just because they can.

Every Discworld book is readable, but damn do I have some gripes. Most of the Witches characters are deeply unlikable(the day of the pillow is coming), relying on the scenarios to be interesting. He really liked modding Oblivion and just chilling in his player home living as a farmer. He also helped write some dialogue for a modded companion he really liked.

She's a woman, she'll fuck it up somehow or get greedy and they'll butcher it just like they butchered Tolkien with Ring Of Power

This is the exact opposite of discworld
The humour is either built on ideas laid out across the book or based on existing ideas within the genre of fantasy
its messages on the value of life are very much positive, uplifting ones
there is an afterlife in discworld

you may now pretend that you were baiting to try and save face, but we all know you were actually just retarded

between this and styxx, and chronicles of nick, this lady fucked my perception up as a kid. Can barely remember some of it, probably wont like it on a re-read so ill leave it as a hazy memory.

>Wizards : the worst series BY FAR
Glad I'm not alone in thinking this. The Last Continent felt like the most pointless book ever, you're better off watching "Bart vs. Australia".

Not a series, but this book fucking rocks. Tired old hedge knight and his loli daughterfu making their way through Plague-era Europe, and demons are invading. The Lesser Dead by the same guy was also very good.

Not favorite, but anyone else read this? Basically a reverse Harry Potter, wizards openly rule the world and they're evil and corrupt.

The Discworld books are in complete honesty my favorite books and series. There are other things I've read I'd say were better written, there are definitely things that have had more impact on the world at large, but when it comes down to Anon A. Anonymous' money they've had the biggest impact on my life and they're all great for just grabbing a book and reading. Even played the MUD for fucking years
