I just don't get it. It's not the fact that these games are fun. It's the fact that they're some of the most fun games ever made. How is that even possible? They're just skateboarding games. What sort of scientific formula did Neversoft discover when creating these games?

grinding is satisfying, spinning and landing correctly is satisfying, scores runnin up is satisfying
I always hated the challenges, which were designed by fucking idiots (aka "game devs" with nice resumes), they are the opposite of satisfying unless you have completionist OCD
the dichotomy between the mechanics and the challenges is educational

Man as a kid it really filled that fantasy of being a pro skater so well. Like the game was so much easier to get into as cartoonish as it was when you thought โwhat if I did thatโ
