The longest group I was around I had a bit of a pattern of oversharing and crashing out when I didn't get the reaction I wanted. People didn't seem to mind and because I was reliable and available I got myself included in some of the deeper circles, but I still felt like I'm not getting what I want out of it. It's likely that I just expected too much, but I felt like I'm putting way more emotional and time investment into being a member of the group for what I'm getting. It was just too much to be in "the chat" 24/7 and it being all my social life, so I started to wean myself off the group. Quit the main server and as pre-existing commitments ended almost nobody reached out I was free.
I have broken it a bit years later because I wanted to play a coop game but the group was too normalfag zoomer and I showed too much power level so it was my "oh, yeah, I now remember why I'm a hermit" and I didn't stay very long.
