First off, I'd check my stats or equivalent. If I'm stupidly OP from the get go, or am in the ding-dong realm when most are lowly ching-chongs, I just do whatever the fuck I want.
If I've got detrimental stats/abilities/ am not even a lowly ping-pong, I simply look for the most scored ability in the world. Chances are it's actually OP as fuck for anyone who isn't mentally retarded, and I then exploit it to shoot strait to the top.
Sure, it might piss off any readers that wanted an underpowered MC story, but it sucks to be them.

There's actually an isekai like this, magic is dead and otherworlders summon humans to jump start their technology. Is basically set during the colonial period but humans dont exist anymore, save for summoned earthlings, its mostly elves and dwarves.

Like all you had to do was make a colorful medieval world full of intrigue like your standard isekai anime. With fun gameplay mechanics. And have appealing characters (both in appearance and personality). That's it.
