Look, it was a groundbreaking 2D hit at the time, and when subsequent 3D and handheld Zeldas came out you could still compare it to ALttP and go "This is where it started, holy shit, it's still pretty amazing!"
But anon... it's been what, 20 years since that was a common sentiment? I finally played ALttP and Super Metroid from beginning to end in 2021, and I felt underwhelmed and realized they really are just indie games at this point.
