i had a prototype (also abandoned) of a koth map but the point is a building made of breakable walls; the idea is that as the match goes on it gets more and more ruined and thus harder to defend, but cover in tf2 is a bit of a meme and i'm too used to gmod/hl2 sp mapping where building houses is much tighter and you have the packaged-in art assets for that kind of thing. tf2's artstyle is a little too industrial for buildings you could believably minigun apart and players interact really badly with debris. also retarded memers intentionally shredding their own cover presents a problem

i also had an idea of doing a koth map with "defcon levels": either over time or as the point is capped back and forth, stuff opens up to provide more ammo, new routes open, maybe even have an orbiting gunship or something to provide a very oppressive way to provide fire. but again, im used to mapping for more grounded (literally and figuratively) games and have a niggling feeling that that sort of thing wouldnt work in tf2.

also a pl"r" map where instead of competing carts, you push one cart back and forth. football style pushing the cart towards the enemy. for whatever reason i wanted to make that sports themed like that pipeball map too

i prefer koth and pl/plr just because my iq is too low to want to learn a new big 5cp or long payload map every time and am a projecting retard. i'm also enamored with Domination and making especially dark maps with lots of artificial lighting instead of the usual mid-day setting of tf2 but every map that does either of those things is dogshit so I'm wary of trying thinking I'll make the first good example of it
