For all of these projects, I imagine that it's just about leaning into the qualia of experiencing the original show. With PR, it's just lots of cool fights and a team that seems like they care about each other. If you can manage that, you're gold. The last movie only had a couple of fights.

Because Hasbro still owns Power Rangers, which by definition means they own the western rights to Super Sentai. Toei can't do anything without Hasbro's approval, which sucks because Hasbro barely wants to do anything with Power Rangers in the first place. If Hasbro can't figure out Power Rangers, then Toei can't expand Super Sentai. Kamen Rider can expand just fine because Toei fully owns those rights, and Habsro never bought it when Saban sold its IPs off, leaving the old western rights to expire.
