You can get Cloud late in the game but he starts at level 1, all of his abilities requiring having his sword, and his sword is only obtained in a side battle as a hidden item you have to find and if you don't get it in that battle you don't get it period.

This is autistic of me, but funnily enough Limit is one of the best skillsets to use in randomizer runs, because classes will randomly be able to learn Non-Charge. Cherry Blossom from a high MA unit with Non-Charge can just vaporize entire 3-panel grids in a single turn.
For regular gameplay, Finish Touch is honestly OP for a 0 MP cost spell with 20 charging speed, and Climhazzard is obviously useful against bosses.
Cloud rarely makes my team but he's more useful than Meliadoul, at least.

It's just there for variance. FFT doesn't have a defense stat and instead only HP, meaning you can always know how much damage you'll do outside of a critical. The zodiac system is only there so that you can get some minor randomness and maybe switch up your tactics if you notice a bad compatibility when you execute your move.
The only way you can even optimize the system is making sure your supportive caster (if any), has good compatibility with your units.
I guess you can also build a team targeting Boss zodiac compatibility which is fixed but that's very unnecessary and gay on top.

Am I hurting myself by powerleveling all characters jobs the second I get the opportunity? I know enemies level up with you, but the job abilities seem to outpace them fairly quickly. Also if anyone could tell me if there is a better strategy for leveling jobs I'd love to hear it.

1. Step one, trigger a random battle with a Chocobo.
2. Kill everything but the Chocobo.
3. Surround Ramza who hopefully has the Monk ability "Chakra".
4. Everyone throws stones at Ramza who then heals.
5. Everyone gets JP for the action and Ramza gets JP for the heal.
6. Everyone stays in the battle until they max out that class.
7. Rinse and repeat.

Also, is the Dark Knight class in the PSP game worth it? Also what Monk skills (if any) should I carry over into other classes? Or do Monks get outshined later on to such a degree they're kinda worthless?

I like how FFT's battles play out more. Faster contact with the enemy. I also like the skill system and unit customization more as well as charging spells and abilities.
I like TO's branching story and side character plotlines and endings. I also like TO being more ambitious about extra dungeons and sidequests. I also like the RT system where weighted actions matter.

That name sounds so awful to me. Algus or death. Even worse is the fact that WotL has him get brought back at the end. The whole fucking point is that Algus was a nobody, a complete footnote. That was part of the irony of "The Meager", part of the reason Algus had such a disdain for peasants is because as a disgraced noble they were the only people he still held a position above so he clung to that hierarchy as his sole remaining scrap of noble pride. Lucavi couldn't give less of a shit about Algus of all people, and he had zero points of contact with anything demonic while he was alive. If it was just to screw with Ramza, the demons would have just trotted Zalbag's spirit out yet again. It would have been redundant but at least it would have made sense.

Balk may have been forgettable to the player, but at least he had direct ties to the Church and its plot, and a chance to have sold his soul. The ONLY reason to bring Algus back in the Dead City was pure fanservice. He's a fan favorite so why not lol? How does it suit the narrative? Who cares!

I preferred putting Draw Out on a Wizard. The damage of Draw Out attacks scales with MA and Wizards have very good MA growth so those katana skills hit like a fucking truck

Oh no! Nah, I get why people may no like it or prefer FFT but I like the condensed experience over the shitty random battles that were a slog and only really there to grind, something that is at odds with the strategy already. One of the main rules of a good run of FFT comes in the OP: pick one characters, s/he's the thief till you can thieve everything.
And learn yell and HP regen skills with Ramza just in case you get stuck.

He ran off to suck up to Dycedarg after Ramza told him to get lost and Dyce, still woozy after being stabbed several times, told him to go with Zalbag and crush the Death Corps and he'd get him promoted to knighthood or something. So Algus went as part of Zalbag's retinue to Fort Zeakden to finish off the rebels plotting rebellion.

Zalbag is disgusted that he has to order Teta's death as a hostage (Dycedarg likely expressly forbid him from even trying to negotiate for her) and has Algus take care of it. When a messenger comes and tells hi Wiegraf has been sighted nearby he rushes off and leaves Algus in charge.

Ramza and Delita were there to witness him kill Teta to shoot Golagros Levine(the ranking Death Corps member on scene) and Delita went ballistic so we wound up fighting Algus and a contingent of knights. Canonically I'd like to think Delita finished Algus off personally. He bled out in the snow at Ft. Zeakden. He was 16, practically a kid by today's standards.

The game is like FF6 where you can break the game easily. So after doing that, fuck around with classes in fun ways. Ramza with a squad of women using bags. White mages with monk abilities. Chemists who need assistance so they use summon magic. I like make Cloud only target one unit in a fight to sort of mimic him and Sephiroth's relationship. I play Cloud like a retard who just charges towards some random enemy only focuses on taking them down.
