DOOM 3 has to be most satanic game ever created, I mean that in a good way. The whole game is fantastic, evil is always lurking in the shadows, waiting for the player to commit any mistake.

I can't get over the sound effects and overall aesthetic of the game is so fucking good, really captures the essence of the evil of hell

I do love how sharp the lighting was
modern game engines have a glassy look and are too afraid of using complete darkness

The gameplay itself is ass (the shooting is fine, the plasma rifle and minigun are pure sex, but the enemy variety isn't that interesting and the hallway fights get old quickly), but goddamn the lighting and sound design carry this game like atlas

It was nice how they actually tried and succeeded at making hell creepy in that game, unlike the new games

The new games never even tried to be creepy, and even then Doom 3's creepiness gets old by level 3.
FEAR outdid Doom 3 in everyway, as a horror game, as a shooter and even as a tech demo.

It's very sinister in its horror too. Nowhere is safe, no respite, and everyone is either dead or corrupted.

>This is the audio log of research specialist Simon Garlick, dated August 8th, 2145.
>It seems that I have misplaced the rest of the science team. I don't know how it happened. This place... well, I don't know what this place has done with them. One moment there, I'm taking samples and the next thing I know, I... I... I turn around and everyone is gone. There one second, turn around and they're gone. I can't raise anyone on the comlinks and the only signs of the team I can find are tools and other personal effects that seem to have been left behind. Almost as if they had stopped working midway through running experiments. This place does funny things with your eyes and your perception of time. Um... hopefully, they just went into the next sector and are waiting for me to catch up. I am going off to find them now.
>This is Simon Garlick, signing off.
