Goddamn what the fuck happened to multiplayer gaming? If you called your teammate shit or told them they sucked they would spend the entire match trying to one up you and play their best to prove you wrong.

Nowadays if you even dare offend someone they just throw to spite you. This is one of those aspects of the modern gamer that ill never understand

Because then it was a casual match in a casual game where neither of you actually gave a fuck about winning and getting them to start bantering back made them sit up straight. Now you're doing it in a ranked match in a competitive game where they're already trying their best and where they know you really want to win. Go tell your teammate he's ass in CoD and I promise they still won't really give a fuck. It's not the people, it's the environment you're doing it in. Some games are inherently more competitive than others and you'll naturally get a different response.
