Was there any other solution?
Did Arthas do the right thing?
>>717155862 (OP)If you don't cull Stratholme, Lordaeron dies that day. Going to Northrend was a mistake, but done with good intentions.
Jaina and Uther are ass clowns.
>there must another way
Well there wasn't.
Though if Arthas didn't go to north and didn't resurrect kel'thuzad they couldn't bring archimonde in.
So maybe the humans could have prevented the invasion?
>>717155862 (OP)>Was there any other solution?magic
>>717155862 (OP)>ReforgedYou suck ass op.
>>717155862 (OP)Who cares? Blizzard wiped him from existence to the point he does even exist in the afterlife.
>>717156414mfw Arthas is safe from further Blizzard raping
>>717155862 (OP)Quarantine.
CK3 WC showed this.
Alternatively, moving to Theramore.
>>717155862 (OP)no only brainlets defend arthas
>>717155862 (OP)There could be whatever solution the writers felt like. But you're not supposed to know, the story wouldn't work if you did.
>>717157131>quarantining a zombie plagueMight as well call it "feeding the infected"
And that's not even taking into account the Dreadlord roaming the city.
>>717155862 (OP)There wasn't, he did. Even if there was another way to save them, the people started turning in minutes, there was no time to implement anything, and Mal'ganis was actively rampaging through the city teleporting freshly turned zombies out. Stratholme was doomed before they even got there.
The real mistake was Arthas going to Northrend, but there was nothing anybody could do about that either, the Lich King had Arthas dialed in way in advance because of his kooky powers. If Jaina and Uther had gone with him, they would have died there and you'd be down a faction in the final mission. What you should really be asking is if the Night Elves needed the extra help at all, Medivh could have gone and warned them first. If they'd taken him seriously, the druids would have been wakened much sooner.
>>717156205Better to die with dignity than becoming an oathbreaker
That's the point of being a fucking paladin retard
And you will never know if Lordaeron truly goes down if they don't cull stratholme
>>717157289Oathbreaker? Arthas's role as future monarch obligates him to not let his kingdom die. He morally can't allow Stratholme to turn and destroy the rest of Lordaeron, by his duty as heir to the kingdom.
>Was there any other solution?
we'll never know because Uther punked out like a faggot
getting turned into the undead fucks your soul out of going to the afterlife and you basically go into hell when you die so arthas did all the infected a favor
>>717157337>He morally can't allow Stratholme to turn and destroy the rest of Lordaeron, by his duty as heir to the kingdom. But that's exactly what he did
>>717157337yeah it was his duty to kill his citizens, kill tourself retard
he's also a paladin so the retard is a two time oath-breaker
next time just listen to Uther, bitch
>>717157289>oathbreakerThat isn't how warcraft paladins work, as long as they believe what they're doing is right, the Light responds to a paladin's call. Culling Stratholme didn't affect his powers in any way, in fact they only got stronger.
>>717157387>Uther punked out like a faggotIt's worse than that. Uther was so morally opposed to the culling that he outright refused orders from the Prince to carry it out. BUT his moral indignation wasn't strong enough to do anything to stand in Arthas's way. If he's so fucking moral to the point where he can't have these people die, he is also morally obliged to defend them. And he just leaves.
>>717157476>Culling Stratholme didn't affect his powers in any way, in fact they only got stronger.Yeah dude, he literally lost his mind and followed malganis to the ends of the earth
But killing his own people didn't fucking affect him or his oath to his people as a paladin and prince
You people are actually retarded
>>717157467i like how palacucks think themselves as honorable demigods that can do no wrong yet time and time again we see that they're basically just morons with a crutch that they don't deserve and more easily corruptible than even dudes who are strong and good with a sword (warriors)
no wonder the latter run kingdoms and lead armies while the paladins just sit in church
>>717157482Uther's not that great of a guy if you examine his actions, neither are the other paladins. Lordaeron was being actively destroyed by Arthas and multiple paladin orders were sitting around, twiddling their thumbs and defending a fucking urn instead of taking the fight to him.
>>717157458>But that's exactly what he didAfter having his soul eaten by a magic devil sword. Unrelated to culling Stratholme.
>>717157467>yeah it was his duty to kill his citizensYes, it most absolutely was. It was the moral and righteous decision to protect the innocent from the lost and the damned.
>>717157482>BUT his moral indignation wasn't strong enough to do anything to stand in Arthas's wayArthas was his friend, pupil and prince
Don't talk about morals faggot, you're defending a guy who went against all advice and killed his own people and then sold his soul to Satan
>>717157561What? Play the game, his powers literally get stronger despite culling Stratholme, even after burning his own ships and betraying the mercenaries, his powers kept growing. He even retained them for a while after taking up Frostmourne.
>>717157637>Unrelated to culling Stratholme.No it's all related
>>717157697Sure in the sense that if Lordaeron is destroyed by the Stratholme zombies Arthas doesn't turn to the Scourge since everyone dies right there.
All Stratholme did to Arthas was to isolate him for making the right call. The desperation of being alone drove him into the trap, he wasn't turned evil by Stratholme.
If anything it's Uther's fault for abandoning him.
>>717157679Powers don't matter to this argument
>>717157796Then being a paladin is irrelevant. Which it is anyways since his role as future monarch is more important and why he has to kill the city.
>>717157679>his powers literally get stronger despite culling StratholmeTHIS DOESNT MEAN HE'S NOT A FUCKING OATH BREAKER YOU STUPID FUCKING NIGGER
WHAT WAS FUELING HIM WAS VENGEANCE NOT THE LIGHT
IF THE LIGHT WAS WITH HIM HE WOULD NOT HAVE FOLLOWED MALGANIS AND WOULDNT NOT HAVE LOST HIS MIND
Holy shit arthascucks are actual braindead apes
>Entire plot only occurs because Arthas, Uther, Jaina, and Medivh never take a five minute breather to talk to exchange exposition
>Human/Undead Campaign doesn't even end AFTER the paid expansion and you have to wait six years and pay a flat rate + monthly fee + two expacs + tip to play a game that plays completely fucking different just to see the ending
Baffles me that people talk about WC3 like it's the second coming of christ when it was only good for its map editor and multiplayer, which of course Blizzard stole and monetized.
>>717157826>WHAT WAS FUELING HIM WAS VENGEANCE NOT THE LIGHTWhy did he ask the magic sword to protect his people, rather than to give him the strength to murderfuck Mal'Ganis?
>>717157796They literally do if you're arguing Stratholme should have made him fall as a paladin. They don't work like D&D paladins, the oaths are entirely irrelevant, they literally get their powers from a sentient being (God pre-wow, Naaru post-wow) that decides on a whim if what they're doing is good or bad. Culling Stratholme was the correct thing for him to do as a paladin, and the proof that it was is that he not only didn't lose his powers for doing it, his powers got stronger.
>>717157780>All Stratholme did to Arthas was to isolate himHe lost his soul when he killed his own people. He turned dark, in literally the next mission he can't even feel the cold of Northrend, such is his heart. His lust for vengeance (remember mission 2 when Uther tells him vengeance corrupts you) is what isolates him, not because his friends desert him (also not true, he talks to Jaina before he leaves and she begs him not to go). You are a projecting, parentless fuck desperate for attention and approval.
>>717157780>All Stratholme did to Arthas was to isolate him for making the right callYeah you're an actual fucking retard
Arthas kills innocent citizens in Stratholme > goes to Northrend
Arthas doesn't kill innocent citizens in Stratholme > doesn't go to Northrend
You niggers are retarded, it's that simple, Stratholme is literally ground zero for every action taken after that.
>>717158030>Arthas doesn't kill innocent citizens in Stratholme >doesn't go to NorthrendOf course he wouldn't.
Because he and everyone in Lordaeron would be dead.
>>717157825>>717157925What the fuck are you even talking about retard, nobody is talking about powers, we're talking about honor and dignity
>>717158060>Don't send Uther away>Uther helps you kill Malganis>???>Profit!
>>717158074And I'm telling you that honor and dignity as a paladin Does. Not. Work. The way you think it does in Warcraft.
>>717157925it's not that the god or light decides if actions are good/bad and grants powers accordingly, it just comes down to whether the person has enough faith and conviction in what they are doing is righteous. case in point the light users of the scarlet order doing all their evil shit and can still use the light
>>717158169What are you on about retard, honour and dignity are words in the English dictionary, go look them up
>>717157997Vengeance fags never have an answer for why Arthas explicitly enters a Faustian deal to burn his own soul in exchange while asking "help me save my people" when he could be asking the sword to grant him vengeance in exchange for his soul.
>hurr durr they're the same he wants to save his people by killing Mal'GanisThe phrasing matters because Arthas has nobody to impress. In the most important moment of his life where he knows he's sacrificing his soul, he singles out his people as his motivator. Because he is a hero.
Being a soulless nigger yourself, I'm sure that's beyond you.
Why did Archimonde even need Nerd'zhul? I love how the antagonists just lose because they're retarded. Always a sign of a great storyteller.
>>717158179That's more on the end of post-wow lore, I'd rather not argue from that angle for Warcraft 3. At that point, the Light powers came from God and paladins would only lose them if God decided they were being improperly used. Arthas culling Stratholme then is definitive proof he did the right thing because he only got more powerful, even if his mental state was on the rocks. Whatever being was granting the powers clearly prioritised fighting the scourge over literally any other moral concerns.
>>717158110The ???? phase is doing a lot of heavy lifting for saving the city that is infested with zombies who turn the people they eat into more zombies.
>barricade the entire city and surround it by dwarven steam engines, gyrocopters and gryphon riders, mortars
>even without dwarves, summon the mages of dalaran and high elves to help maintain the siege
>lay countermeasures while the plague is spreading (gunpowder kegs, mines)
>wait for the order of the silver hand to arrive and figure out the next steps
>if the city succumbs to the plague and paladins cannot lift the plague, blow it to high heavens
>march the army out and clear the eastern kingdoms
>>717158307And where the fuck do you get those when Arthas rushed there seconds before people started turning?
>>717158307>we fed the entire population of the second most populated city in the kingdom to zombies before blowing them all up but at least we didn't dirty our hands directly
>>717157872>"Huh retard the sword is cursed we shouldn't touch it">"AH SHUT THE FRICK UP I WOULD SACRIFICE MYSELF FOR MAH PEOPLE"Oh so the trip to northred was for his people? Not to kill mal'ganis? this is your argument? are you going to ignore everything else just to cope with one single line said while already under the influence of frostmourne?
Just ignore the next line...right...
>>717158350Mages can teleport and shit, when it's convenient for the plot.
>>717158242>Because he is a hero. Thanks for the laugh, are you an FSB agent in training or something? Is this a test to see how well you can sell ridiculous ideas on the internet?
>>717158371>I will give anything or pay any price, if only you will help me save my people. In reference to his own immortal fucking soul. A real vengeful monster.
>>717158286There's nothing in Warcraft 1, 2 or 3 that stipulates or backs up anything you are saying. They don't understand The Light in those games and certainly don't call it a God or God. It's just an enigmatic, mysterious Light (which we know as early as TBC is an alien basically). They attribute it to what is good because it heals the sick/wounded and harms undead/demons
We can only retrospectively assume that Arthas believed he was doing the right thing, and he got to keep his power because of it.
>>717158282Because Archimonde can't summon himself dipshit
>>717158289Actually they get the plague from eating the grain
>>717158350>when Arthas rushed there seconds before people started turning? That's not true though. Malganis says he's been waiting for Arthas.
>>717158307>barricade the entire city and surround it by dwarven steam engines, gyrocopters and gryphon riders, mortarsThere was no time to get them there. The only dwarves Arthas had at his disposal were a hunting party and mortar teams.
>even without dwarves, summon the mages of dalaran and high elves to help maintain the siegeIt took Jaina more than twenty minutes to come back with reinforcements for Hearthglen, and Stratholme was turning in seconds after the mission begins.
>lay countermeasures while the plague is spreading (gunpowder kegs, mines)Still not enough time, and that wouldn't help anyway because Mal'ganis was running around teleporting the zombies out.
>wait for the order of the silver hand to arrive and figure out the next stepsThe Silver Hand was there, they fucked off.
>if the city succumbs to the plague and paladins cannot lift the plague, blow it to high heavensCongratulations, you blew up an empty city after all the zombies turned and Mal'ganis teleported them out.
>march the army out and clear the eastern kingdomsThey are now dealing with the entire zombiefied population of Stratholme rampaging across the countryside turning any number of smaller villages with support from the cult of the damned having been going around tainting more grain and outright destroying villages even before Stratholme.
>>717158525>malganis has control over when the plague starts working
>>717158425Literally while begging to get the power of a cursed fucking blade lmao
You're a black fucking ape, kill yourself.
>>717158552>The Silver Hand was there, they fucked offBecause Arthas told them to... Why do you lie?
>>717158429>he doesn't know
>>717158617neither do you
>>717158609they had no business being there after they refused to slay the people seconds away from turning into zombies
>>717157131CK3 doent have Mal Ganis teleporting out the infected
Quarantine wouldn't work, retard
>>717158564He literally does, in the mission they only turn when you destroy the house or malganis destroys a house, and then he literally turns them.
>I will now turn this city household by household Did you faggots even play this game?
>>717158591Arthas knows it's "a cursed fucking blade", fucktard. He's actively sacrificing his soul. With the stated intent of saving other people.
I know the concept of self sacrifice is foreign to a monkey brained shitskin like yourself, but everything is spelled out. He's a hero. That's literally why it's tragic when he is twisted into a villain.
>>717158609I didn't, I never said they fucked off on their own. Even if they had remained, your scenario requires they sit around twiddling their thumbs while Mal'ganis has free reign to turn the city. There was just no time and nothing to do but kill them before they turned, which is as merciful a fate as they could have.
>>717158650We're literally talking about a scenario in which they aren't sent away you mongoloid. Don't you get tired of being wrong?
Could Uther have been persuaded if Arthas knew killing people before they turned saved their souls? When undead die they don't go to any type of afterlife and instead just suffer in some eternal void.
>>717158697>He's actively sacrificing his soul. With the stated intent of saving other people.DAMN THE MEN! ILL GET MY REVENGE
he said calmly
>>717158307>Oh no all of New York is about to become an undead army in the thrall of a demon lord>surely we can hold our position with this 100-man militia
>>717158724Literally nothing could have been said to convince moralfag Uther. He's talking to Arthas when they observe a random civilian turn into a zombie and start attacking innocent people and he doesn't care.
>>717158724Uther is retarded, so no. He saw what happened at Hearthglen and still didn't understand the peril.
>>717158664All part of the Jailers plan. He predicted exactly when Jimmy the clerk was going to turn and instructed Malganis exactly when to drop the line for maximum effect
>>717158703>There was just no time and nothing to do but kill them before they turned, which is as merciful a fate as they could have.Based on what? That information is never given. This is literally your head canon, you're trying oh so hard to maintain contrarianism, it's embarrassing
>>717158741>"take my soul">"just save Lordaeron!">he rampaged evilly
>>717158809He didn't say that though
>>717158789>Based on what?Play the god damned mission, they start turning pretty fast, they were already turning during the cutscene. There literally wasn't time to do anything but kill.
>>717158829>I will give anything or pay any price, if only you will help me save my people.>take my soul, just save Lordaeron
Warcraft is one of those franchises I think could spawn some pretty interesting "What if" scenarios
>>717158809>Goes off and raises his old horse from the deadWas he really as evil as we all believe?
>>717158843>they start turning pretty fast,No they don't you fucking idiot, you can literally just keep malganis on the respawn timer and they'll never turn
PLAY THE FUCKING GAME
>>717158697>Arthas knows it's "a cursed fucking blade"And yet he still gets manipulated like one of the dumbest characters in the entire Warcraft universe
Heโs in that damn cave because he wants to kill mal'ganis
Heโs in Northrend because killing mal'ganis is all he cares about
He takes up frostmourne because thatโs his one goal, to kill mal'ganis
Killing mal'ganis is the bait and fuel.
"saving his people" is just the excuse he tells himself to cope with all his failures and mistakes
If he really cared about his people, he wouldnโt be halfway across the world, playing with cursed swords while chasing a damn demon
Now again kill yourself you dumb retarded nigger
How are you missing the fucking point of your favourite character, it's sad
>>717158890>just ignore the zombie turning in the cutscene, that doesn't count
>>717158876He's lying to make good for the sword.
>>717155862 (OP)>talk it out better>have uthers men attack malganis directly, a job they can stomach, making it no longer a race>send Jaina to dalaran, have her convince antonidas to convert durnholde internment camp into durnholde possible zombie internment camp>cull stratholme as before, but those not obviously infected can be safely teleported to holding, where they can be monitored for signs of turning>a copy of dalarans anti undead barrier can be set up around the quarantine zone, meaning any that do later turn fryArthas gets vindicated, malganis won't be able to convince Uther to go north, Jaina doesn't abandon lordaeron because she saw Uther fuck off and realised it was an option
>>717158931In the Cutscene they just get sick and walk into the house, dipshit
>>717157289>becoming an oathbreakerhows that going for blue Uther?
Warcraft 3 was so good. Warcraft 4 when?
>>717158454He never really seems intent on making him do it. What's taking so long?
>>717158940The evil cursed sword would probably be more stoked on the deal if Arthas begged it to sate his overwhelming desire for demon blood.
>>717158881That's what the WoW writers have been doing for the last decade or so. It's fucking terrible.
>>717158981>UtherWe only care about True Paladins
>>717159006Arthas already said that, Nerzhul already knows what drives Arthas. Arthas doesn't know what the sword knows though, so he says something he thinks sounds like it would please the spirits.
>>717155862 (OP)>>717156276I agree, it wasn't the right thing, but there was no other way. They were going to turn too quickly for any other solution. Arthas then made his efforts pointless by going to Northrend. I remember him snarling at Medivh that nothing would make him abandon his people only for him to sail to Northrend after the next mission (which was the Culling of Stratholme.)
Uther Lightbringer
>trained Darth Vader
>didn't defend Stratholme
>couldn't bring Arthas back from Northrend
>couldn't defend the urn holding King Terenas's ashes
what a fucking loser at every turn
>>717159130Good one Andrew Tate
>>717158282https://vocaroo.com/1ogjmSia58BV
>>717156014>Jaina and Uther are ass clowns.This. If Jaina got off her high horse and went to Northrend with Arthas she could have offered him to unsheath a different kind of sword and he would have all forgotten about that retard dead orc in the freezer.
>>717159105Medhiv wanted Arthas to abandon the land and take his people elsewhere and Arthas point blank refused to do that. He considers the land as important to defend as the people. Which is probably the most hard headed thing about him.
>>717159056>I am going to fight for the light for millennia in the span of a few years, don't think about it too hard>I will do anything for the light, and it's direct representative- oh wait it got oneshot by that demon guy. >>717155862 (OP)Arthas was right.
Tereneas should have supported him by sending a big army to support him along with Uther. That way he would not have needed Frostmourn. Or Uther could have killed him if he tried to take the sword anyway.
But the plot needed to happen.
How did Archimonde get from Eastern Kingdoms to Kalimdor? He was way too big to fit on any boat, did he just swim?
23 years later and still no answer to this
>>717159130Honestly between him and tirion fordring I don't know who got undeservedly wanked more, fordrings original story was

>>717159293can't they just teleport his ass?
Arthas is the biggest virgin in the entire warcraft's universe. This dude is NEVER EVER in control of his own destiny.

>led by the nose by KT
>played by Malganis
>manipulated by NZ
>indirectly doing Archimonde and Sargeras' bidding

>>717159203I think he just didn't want to listen to a random raven hobo from the streets. Would you listen when a homeless person tells you to pack up your house and GTFO across the continent?
Jaina only considered his words because she could feel his power.
Not making more WC games was so retarded
They literally killed the Warcraft IP
>>717159293He can teleport you mong, he literally does it in game
>>717159460Agreed. Unfortunately getting his dick chopped didn't prevent Blizz from giving him DBZ power levels, while taking a big fat shit on KT and Anub'Arak later on.

>>717159484>Would you listen when a homeless person tells you to pack up your house and GTFO across the continent? That depends on if I observed this homeless man turning from bird into man, indicating that he's a magic hobo; and also if I'm already facing a zombie apocalypse, which indicates that shit is indeed hitting the fan like the magic hobo says.
On the other hand in this scenario I'm the fucking prince and this is my fucking kingdom, I'll be damned if I abandon these lands!
>>717158928So he should have just stayed in Lordaeron while Mal'Ganis sends swarms of Scourge at him? Retard
>>717159560>when the homeless person can turn into a birdAnd Arthas can fire holy laser beams and become immortal for a short while. Turning into a bird is rude, not special.
Arthas got very butthurt around the end of mission 5
Originally Jaina was meant to die so that would explain it a bit better. If they ever adapt this for film or tv they need to do a better job showing Arthas getting traumatized
>>717159676>So he should abandon his people and turn into the Lich King? Retardlordaeron, whatever happened there
>Mwaaaah, the Legion are on their way! Pack up and sail to Africa!
>>717159709Would people even know who Medivh is? And would they believe him if he told them he was still alive?
>>717157289Uther broke his oath when he decided to leave.
If he was a true paladin he would have been in stratholme trying to cure the people before they turn and then die with dignity.
Instead he ran away like a bitch.
>>717159798>Arthas got very butthurt around the end of mission 5I'd be assmad too if I risked my ass defending Hearthglen from a concentrated zombie siege and then Uther sweeps in at the very end and starts belittling my efforts and taking credit.
Hearthglen was supposed to be some seriously traumatizing shit, and Arthas stopped sleeping afterwards.
>>717159948>Uther broke his oath when he decided to leave.I think you're right and I would argue that Uther should have fought Arthas if he truly was a paladin of the realm.
Every time I see Arthas I'm reminded of the hilariously awful Arthas model in hots.
Honestly the early Hots artstyle was so bad lmao
>>717159942It's probably best for Medivh if nobody recognizes him considering he was basically the super antichrist that brought an interdimensional war to the world.
>>717159942The Paladins should know. And the king perhaps too.
And all of them would immediately try to kill him again.

I have a lore (lmao) question about Warcraft.
Is Stormwind actually the only functional human city on the Eastern Kingdoms continent?
For an MMORPG you obviously have to contract the world so it makes sense from gameplay perspective,
but are there really just a couple of villages besides Stormwind, or are there supposed to be other towns and maybe even small cities as well?
>>717163518>s-s-s-seethe i-i-i- don't wanna give you an explanation!!ok
Arthas should have let the people turn into ghouls and fight them at the entrance. People die either way, but at least you are not killing the innocent.
>>717162046>what was acceptable>entire kingdom he serves goneIf the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule?
>>717162280>>It's better to doom the entire world than to mercy kill people who were already deadBut enough about what Arthas actually did in the game
>>717157856Anything that happens in World of LGBTcraft is not canon. The story will continue in Wacraft IV.
>>717163902So everyone should do as they please at all times for what they deem as better?
>>717163706Warcraft 3 had Lordaeron have a bunch of larger villages such as Strahnbrad, Hearthglen and Andorhal, and minor cities apart from the capital like Stratholme. It's not a stretch that the kingdom of Stormwind had similar population spread, but as you've noted, the game world is scaled down a lot from its actual lore size. It's strange that we don't see a lot of other settlements in the southern part of the Eastern Kingdoms in WoW though, but the events of the 3 Warcraft games were all apocalyptic scenarios with mass casualties, so it's not a stretch to say that the population of the Eastern Kingdoms was decimated by the time of vanilla WoW and a lot of these villages, towns and cities were destroyed and abandoned afterwards.
>>717159182They were already fucking at this point, the novelizations all but confirm that teen Jaina was regularly bouncing on our prince. At the very least, she gave her virginity up to him.
It's clear to anyone with a brain that Arthas did nothing wrong. Culling Stratholme was the only option and any what ifs are just cuck fantasies playing make believe. It's also wrong to say a mistake was made following Mal'ganis to Northrend when Arthas believed the only way to stop the problem was at what he believed to be the source.
Arthas acted in the only way possible and anything after was him being a victim of fate.
Fact: Stratholme was 100% going to become a Hearthglen situation but to a scale of the second largest human city on the continent that would've lead to a snowball of death for the entire Eastern Kingdoms.
Fact: Mal'ganis wasn't going to just leave Lordaeron unmolested if Arthas didn't follow to Northrend, everything Mal'ganis had done up to this point was deliberately provoking Arthas by creating the biggest threat to the kingdom of Lordaeron that couldn't be neglected. Arthas was willing to pay any price to save his homeland by cutting off the source of the biggest threat facing his kingdom (and unknowingly doomed it due to the sword taking his humanity).
Fact: The faggot that was part of the development team that claims Arthas was wrong and 'We don't just kill Covid patients' was not involved in the writing process for Warcraft 3 at all, he was a level designer. Partially in part of his job to design the level would be to show that there was no way for Arthas to win other than culling the populace, which is further shown by Mal'ganis overwhelming the player once reaching 100 zombies and the ending cutscene after victory showing that the city still had survivors, people survived the culling so by the game's (and indeed the level designer's) own admission the culling saved peoples lives.
>>717164158With events of War2 and War3 Humanity must be on the brink of extinction, but I don't know how WoW handles this.
A lot of fantasy often feels barren, some of those outposts could have maybe been made a little bit bigger and busier so they feel more like towns than a couple of sheds together, but limitations are limitations.
Still a bit silly that Theramore felt bigger in Warcraft 3 than it did in WoW
>>717164449He could've gone west to the forgotten lands of Kalimdor
>>717164520>With events of War2 and War3 Humanity must be on the brink of extinction, but I don't know how WoW handles this.Basically every race is, but each capital presumably has a high enough population in lore to rebuild over time despite being pretty small in-game. Both Lordaeron and Stormwind as cities are substantially larger than the game versions suggest, nothing like a modern metropolis though.
>>717164701>bro just travel west and let the demons win im sure they won't use the sunwell for nefarious shitIs medivh rarted?
>>717164790>doesn't state anything plainlyYes
>>717164701If Medivh couldn't convince the King, the one with the actual power to move his kingdom up and over the ocean then what hope would the crown Prince have? Even if Arthas had been convinced whatever people left behind (which would be the majority of the population) would be left utterly fucked to shit by the Cult of the Damned and Mal'ganis.
>>717165142Then your choice is already made. Just remember, the harder you strive to slay your enemies, the faster you will deliver your people right into their hands.
>>717155862 (OP)Should have kept the original script where it was left ambiguous whether they were infected or not. It would have made for a more compelling story that Arthas truly was a monster at Stratholme

>>717165376Remember he also cucked Kael'thas out of Jaina. Arthas was an absolute bastard to everyone around him. Very based.
>>717164449This is the most truest post in this thread. Fact of the matter is, that Uther and Jenna's decision to leave Arthas when he needed them the most is what truly fucked everything up. I don't know if Uther or Jenna had any way to better detect the plagued citizens, but they sure as fuck would have helped keep the casualties to their absolute possible minimum if they were there, the city might still have been operable in the best case scenario. Arthas still might have followed Mal'ganis to Northred, but even if at that point Jenna and Uther didn't follow Arthas, he wouldn't be so plagued by doubts in his actions to take up a cursed sword.
I fucking hate that they were never confronted about this decision at any point in anything after the Culling of Stratholme, so fuck everything to do with WoW, that trash is fanfiction tier made by shit writers.
>>717157467>he was an oathbeaker!!!!!!!!!!>doesn't lose powers>didn't break oathhe continued as a paladin afterwards, which means he didn't break his oath.

>better mentor than uther

arthas (human campaign) didn't fail, his companions failed him
>>717165789Unironically even if Arthas had believed Medivh, in the process of packing everyone up he would've found the Cult of the Damned and realized there's a more important issue to take care of. Worst case situation Arthas carries the Cult of the Damned to Kalimdor and not only dooms the Eastern Kingdoms since he wasn't there to stop Kel Thuzad but starts a new life with whatever population he was able to convince to sail with cultists in waiting.
Brings up a really interesting what if scenario that includes the possibility of the Cult laying in wait until Kalimdor or even going full Stratholme on the boats, either way it leads just as well to disaster (and always for the entirety of the Eastern Kingdoms).

>>717155862 (OP)Arthas made the right decision at Stratholme. The problem was that Uther never respected Arthas as a leader, blaming Arthas when things went wrong and taking credit when they went well (Hearthglen). Despite three days passing between Hearthglen and Stratholme, Uther never learned about the nature of the plague from Arthas, which means Uther never even tried to mentor Arthas. Even after Stratholme, Uther furthered Arthas' downward spiral by going to his father and recalling his men.
Arthas needed support, but instead his closest friends and advisors left him isolated.
>>717163706Stromgarde also exists. But Stormwind is only around 10-20 years old at this point. It got wiped out and burned during WC1.

>>717155862 (OP)What happened to Stormwind and the other kingdoms south of Lordaeron after Archimonde was summoned and the burning legion were invading?
>>717167424Nothing. Its funny because the scourge was designed to wipe out every major threatening civilization before Archimonde went after the kaldorei.
This means that canonically, stromgarde, the dwarves, and stormwind are niggers on par with, say, the quillboars or the centaurs. So incompetent and unable to mount resistance that the burning legion didn't even bother to weaken them. Kek
>>717167424Stormwind was a shithole at the time. Based on the events in WC3, Archimonde's plan was
