BG3 is basically a Marvel movie but in Forgotten Realms, and the entire game is built to cater to people who like this kind of slop. The retarded shit in that game is both overt and covert, and while BG3 might not be a mechanically bad game per se, it's also one of the worst CRPGs ever made; hence the popularity among the normalfags, hence the yasss queen crowd enjoying it so much.

I define good CRPG by five criteria:
>writing
>story
>world building
>reactivity for roleplaying
>meaningful system depth

Writing is mediocre at best with BG3. Story is an absolute joke bordering on travesty. World building is basically non-existent, with less features than what old games had. Reactivity is pretty neat, but it's mostly just one time quips and simple trinkets rather than some meaningful reactivity arc. It also shows how unfinished the game is. System depth, well, it's a dumbed down version of already dumbed down system + a layer of Larian le quirky retardation like barrelmancy.

At that point in the game your options are to trust a manipulative liar who happens to be the Emperor, someone who lied to you and tried to deceive you or you can take the Deal and free Orpheus or at worst case scenario subdue him yourself if he doesn't team with you.

You are presenting the other side of the table, which is valid, the game itself gives you the options to say what you are saying right now, it was meant to discourage you from taking the deal (unless you are a Gith) as you said it.

Raphael is trying to get the Crown and thats his ultimate goal, he can't take your tadpole away, thats certain, so he has to make you an offer one way or another.

The game shows you how manipulative and corrupt the Emperor is and Raphael is presented as an easy get out of jail option to avoid the Emperor. After all Raphael was correct in one thing, that its Orpheus you need and not the Emperor who is totally dismissible.
