"Hardcore" pc sims like iRacing or Assetto Corsa (they arent really that much harder than a modern simcade, and are easier in other aspects) don't make nearly as much money as their more casual console counterparts, like Gran Turismo or Forza, which usually sell millions of copies. Hell, GT3 was the best selling game on the original Playstation, and on ps2, it was only behind GTA SA.

Put simply, Ready or Not has been building up hype around its gameplay for years. People on console have been starved for a proper tactical PVE shooter for years. Rainbow 6 and Ghost Recon would have filled that niche, once upon a time, but both were completely changed years ago, with one becoming a hyper-competitive sweatlord club and the other being some open world nonsense.
So, when it finally became available on console, people bought it ASAP. The removal of a few nipples or an ODing kid has absolutely no fucking effect on your typical player. They're just here to kick doors and nab some goons.

I was a big Forza player and I tried Assetto Corsa mostly because of the VR support, and it's total fucking shit. They can't even simulate the engine sounds when you lift off the throttle. It feels awful, it sounds awful, it looks average, it doesn't have any identity to speak of except the false sense of superiority from sim autismos.

Haven't played, but one description of the changes I read stated that "images of children" were replaced with something else. What exactly were they stupid enough to put in the game? That one maybe makes sense they removed, depending what it was originally.

There is a mod in Ayakamods and maybe in DEGmods too to make the game based again
