Why are some people mad that we get a different ending? Why do you wish for the game to end up the same as the original? How can you justify experiencing the same thing twice? I'm honestly fine with no changes, but if they change some things, I'm still okay since it keeps me guessing for the next game. It's still basically the exact same ending so far, except for the pov we're seeing it from.
We're currently seeing part of it from Cloud's pov when she's killed, so we won't get the full brunt of her death until part 3 when Cloud has to cope with reality.

The thing that will most likely change is that he likely won't full blame himself by the end, so it won't directly lead into Depressed Mailman saga. It will be "happier" but still bittersweet.

Lost all interest in 7R when I realised the games are 95% the same as the game I played 20 years ago. Not interested in a rethread. They should have been braver and done something more different.

I think that the whole angle of Cloud denial is really interesting and actually fits perfectly well with the original, TOO well in fact, to the point that it makes me think that this plotline was at some point in the original but got cut, so they added this "grief/guilt" arc in advent children to compensate.
Im more surprised at people thinking her death cutscene in rebirth was THE aerith death scene, as if this plot line wont be revisited later in part 3 and act as part of Cloud arc of acceptance (of himself and others).
