It's your money obviously, but consider that, until like 2014, every financial transaction you could realistically perform had some level of give and take with the culture around you.
I say 2014 because that's when gacha games started to really take hold in gaming society with the first wave of "big" successes.
Look at the classic alternative: gambling in a casino. Sure, you could be a slot machine zombie, which is the closest counterpart to a gachafag, but even if you camped the craps or blackjack tables you were still somewhat likely to form social connections, even if temporary.
This stuff is really interesting in my opinion. The last 12-15 years have completely changed how money is seen by people.
