Yakuza/RGG Age Problem
Yagami and Ichiban would've been fine replacements for Kiryu if Yagami didn't look like he sells meth to teenagers and Ichiban wasn't literally in the same age range as Kiryu.
I know one of the unique qualities of these games is the older than average protagonists but damn, isn't this just way too old for a series that's trying its hardest to move on to a new generation of characters?

No, about 9 years older, close to 5/6 Kiryu.
Current Ichiban and Kiryu also have a 9 year age gap.

Yagami felt too silly in Judgment. Like the actor mandated they make him the coolest, sexiest, smartest badass in the room at all times.

The senior devs/writers are boomers and aren't capable of depicting a new generation. Lost Judgement almost felt like a desperate excuse to get the team near a high school

They wanted Ichiban to be a former Tojo, but they also didn't want to be too familiar with what happened in the games, so they put him in jail for 20 years.
