Just finished beta testing this for you PC fags. 2027 game of the year on your way. Some things about it
>Pros
The things I liked about the first game that made it fun are still there
Quality of life improvements for example portable music player
New gadgets, weapons, items etc for example you get that lightning guitar from the trailer
New gameplay mechanics for example capturing and summoning giant BTs
Gameworld is more fleshed and immersive for example day/night cycles and wildlife
Lot of cutscenes are shuffled to the side, for example "Do you want to see backstory to X? Yes show me a 3 hour cutscene. No I'll go back to playing the game"
Substantial side content besides routine deliveries like Side Bosses and missions etc.
>Cons
Console game usuals
Monorails too slow
Still too easy but maybe PC will get a new difficulty like last time
2 pajeet characters. You even meet one of this shit jeets twice
I said in Pros that many cutscenes are moved to the side but there's still a lot of cutscenes. Don't get too excited.
Roads are mad expensive to build them all
>Could go either way
Some songs for example Pop Virus return but mostly new music
The many cameos aren't recognizable like Max Payne but later you look them up and see oh it was some dev from Stray or one of the soundtrack singers
There is a good bit of Pekora content like unique items and cosmetics. I don't feel strongly about it besides thinking it's goofy but there is a fair amount if you do
The story gets crazy at the end

things i thought sucked and ruined the game

cost of roads so expensive you make two trips for the same road typically instead of one trip for like 2 or 3 sections of road

stupid magellan warping everywhere you go forcing you to watch cutscenes every stop

no point in building hot springs you already have beach travel

Cons:
It is fucking impossible to get max contract level in bridge links without friends. No, I don't mean preppers, I mean real human porters that are suppose to reciprocate the likes you afford them and instead don't. The game has had people logged off for weeks now and they're still handing me 100 ish likes a day from them, so they're stored up in a bank of activity and metered out over many many play sessions rather than all at once. So every time I do a suicide run and dump 10k likes on some Sam's head, that person probably won't notice unless they play for a week solid and notice my name keep popping up as the server connection refreshes.

Is there anyone out there on PS5 that can help me get the max link cheevo? I'm so fucking sick of working my ass off the "natural organic way" and getting fucking stiffed by people that give 4 likes to a guidepost or my footprints, even though I'm at 4.5 star rating with them they just won't go the extra mile to finish it out.

>>717219937
couldn't agree more, I was fucking thrilled when I got it and replayed it many times until I got the S. I was so pumped for more encounters like that, but from that moment forward towards the final acts of the game... You just have 3 bikers pop out at you while on the northern side of Australia. That's it. Never more, never a random assortment of them, never frequently enough that you really have to be on your toes, just a random chance encounter once a week while driving around up there. What a let down.

Mine is more like 75% but yes, roads are kind of a part of the problem. Let me explain.

When someone likes a structure, and you're actively on that map, you can see the location they liked your structure. It's helpful for locating what part of the story that porter might be at, and you can ride your happy ass over there and hunt for something of theirs. If it's a road, the payout is fucking anonymous. No information is handed out on which road is liked more than others, how many people used it, nothing. So if you get someone that takes the time to dump 5k likes on your road, it's next to fucking impossible to hunt them down and thank them. Then a week goes by, you can't find them, and they sever you contract and forget about you. Then the next Sam like dumps your road... but what road? They won't tell you!!

I sincerely wish they gave a little bit more TLC to the Bridge Links system. It's so barebones and devoid of actually being useful it isn't even funny. Slightly improved from DS1, but not by very much at all.

I forgot about that because the fight didn't last very long for me. That's true, but not a real course you could engage them with. I pretty much just fought the thing on one end of the bridge and it died promptly. Still, really fucking neat enemy type, criminally underutilized.

Got to fucking Pizza Chef and this game gives me such fucking whiplash. On the one hand, the games solid and can play full autism mode or complete free-form. But Reedus just cant fucking act/Kojima is still learning what proper human interaction is. It literally feels like they made Carl from Aqua Teen star in a fucking Scorsese film that was put through multiple translation programs. Theres maybe 3 people so far who are actually acting (Higgs, Tarman, Dollman) in a way appropriate to their roles. Same trying to sing with Elle was cringy as fuck, Fragile is all around trash with her 'smoking' shit. But the game itself is great.

The weapons don't matter and you'd be better off with a single sticky on one side so you could steer clear of something you don't want to pick up. Your other two mod slots are to taste. .......the purpose of this is to remind you of old characters and to foreshadow that charlie is die hardman. its not a 'make choices' game, there's only like other other choice you can even make and that's just a decision of whether you want to hear exposition or not

>No, I don't mean preppers, I mean real human porters that are suppose to reciprocate the likes you afford them and instead don't.

lol. Just build the roads and people will easily give you a shitload of likes just for using your roads. They don't even actively press like, the game automatically forces you to like a road you go through that someone else built.

I really do hope Kojima Productions is working on some new content for DS2 or atleast a higher difficulty option. Better enemy A.I. (just copy MGS5), more Low Roar songs for the music player, more unique deliveries, more vehicles, more tools.

The director's cut of DS1 actually improved the original's gameplay in meaningful ways.
