Concerning graphic/sprite tech limitations on the SNES, it shouldn't have been an issue. It's a simple and small sprite with not that many colors. I can only assume it's a prank or inside joke or that the sprite artist was color blind.

The sprite already has both black and yellow. Link could have had a normal hair color no problem. Adding pink is counter productive and made no sense.

It was more relevant when everyone had CRTs and they cared about kids being able to play the game easily above all else. Romhacks like Parallel Worlds tried the blond hair and it's ok on modern displays but still doesn't really stand out as well.

color palette limitations. Look at the world map you will see a lot of brown/yellow/green. You don't want him clashing with the background. Especially in forests where he is already mostly green.

I like how this shows his bias has nothing to do with the color of the hair itself, and everything to do with the characterization of Link post-Ocarina being incompatible with the retarded DiC version he considers definitive. He's okay with Link having pink hair in Link to the Past because he can still freely imagine that Link saying "Well, excuuuse me, Princess!" That's literally all there is to it. What's the best way to play the N64 games on Le PC?
Emulating or the recomps? Trying to be as close to the vanilla experience, but from what I saw emulating looks like aids because the 2D backgrounds/textures get fucked next to the rendered 3D.

It was done for contrast based on the environment pallets they wanted to use for the game. Pink hair helped Link stand out in all of them, the player wouldn't lose track of him on what was a much busier screen than any other Zelda game had presented up to that point.

That had most likely to do with limitations of color presuming that is his hair and not the lining of his hat. I often perceived it as the lining of his hat. If it is his hair, it is cause of technical limitations.

The pink hair was an intelligent choice because contrary to what nostalgia wankers might tell you, not everyone had a good CRT (nevermind a good video format, how the fuck did yurops lived with PAL still blows my mind) so Link having pink hair makes him stand out stupidly easy in an old shitty CRT and given that LttP gets a little silly sometimes, having an easy bead on Link helps.
