Use infernal flames spell from the first boss, keep dodging her charge attack and use that spell

Honglan marks a turning point where every single boss gets like that. Hyper-aggressive, no down time, endless attack chains. She's far from being the hardest boss in the game. There's nothing particularly special about her beyond being forced to use parry/deflect

Try to use charged heavy backstabs. Any fight against humanoids becomes fishing for charged heavy backstabs since they instantly break them and allow you to deal a fuckload of damage

You need a way that grants you skyborne might in order to spam heavies and swift draws. Either practice dodge or read the skill tree of whatever weapon you're maining. There's a skill that makes it so swift draws heal you when your madness is high. That lets you be a lot more agressive so grind it if you're stuck. Also heavy attacks with skyborne might go off very quickly.

What is skyborne? And with swift draws, do I have to use 2 of the weapon Im maining or what? Im using two handed sword.

Skyborne might are the charges you get when you perfect dodge or perform certain abilities. If your arm/the bottom left icon is blue then you have 1 charge, purple then you have 2 charges. Weapons have a discipline skill that you can change and an innate heavy skill. The number of blue dots on the ability icon is how many skyborne might you need to execute it at high speed with more power. You need to have enough skyward might to execute your other weapons heavy ability in order to swift draw to it.

I think ideally you'd use 2 of the same weapon class to swift draw to fully take advantage of the skill tree you're investing in

This boss and every single other one in the game is the most basic rollslop bosses that are no more complex than Elden Ring.

Is this what happens when the average player isn't handed summons to use in every single encounter?

You stupid bastards have gotten every game ruined by refusing to get even remotely decent. Just recently Khazan, Lies of P and now Wuchang are all being made easier.
