All Nintendo products in Canada go through the US first, so they're still subject to tariffs. Canada honestly should not be independent.

Because Canada doesn't have the capacity to bring in a ton of stuff from Asia. Vancouver's port is like 1/10 the size of Los Angeles' port. It's more cost effective to bring stuff in by tractor trailer. It's also easier on Nintendo's end with their supply chains.
