Then unfortunately modern fighting games will never be good.
I think people vastly understate the impact of simple inputs on a fighting game, especially one that treats them as an 'alternative' to traditional inputs with little to no downsides.
It doesn't just simplify execution, it eases the mental stack. That's why all modern games have to add mechanics to fill the mental stack void. Assists, 4v4, active tags, slime rush. Because if you don't, the game devolves into a reactive rather than an active game.
But the fgc has no integrity so who cares.
