Think that was Uncanny Avengers #20 where he's not trying to fight while she's pissed Kang has her weird time daughter and he is just trying to coerce the group at the time to work with him. MVC is kind of boring once you learn some winning mixups. Tokon seems to be more playable but sacrifices wackiness and everything else to be playable. This game has no flair and style, it's selling itself on the Marvel and Arc System name. Another thing is that MVC is fucking soulful, they took pages from the comics and artists' styles to make the movesets. In Tokon, I didn't see any of that, everything went through the anime meat grinder and the moveset has no flair. Strive is the lower paced GG and has more style than this game. I think people vastly understate the impact of simple inputs on a fighting game, especially one that treats them as an 'alternative' to traditional inputs with little to no downsides.
It doesn't just simplify execution, it eases the mental stack. That's why all modern games have to add mechanics to fill the mental stack void. Assists, 4v4, active tags, slime rush. Because if you don't, the game devolves into a reactive rather than an active game.
But the fgc has no integrity so who cares.
