Never once do you clock the princess upside the head with the plain wooden table. Was waiting for it to happen the entire game.

I guess that's all 'surprise' and not really a factor in how much I did or didn't like it.

Funny you mention that, I kept eyeing that table every damn dialogue scene like it was Chekhov's gun just waiting to go off. They set it up so perfectly with those tense moments, I was sure it’d turn into some kind of bizarre pseudo-combat mechanic or an emergency escape QTE or something. But nope, just background dressing. Guess the real surprise was how much I was constantly second-guessing what kind of game it actually wanted to be.

Found it very boring, and I love adventure visual novels. Terrible art style. Nice writing, nice voice acting. But nope
