Especially since DMC4 is not anime. All the acting, mannerisms and direction is refreshingly western thanks to ruben and his mocap/voice team.
and anime characters have dots for noses and faces that all look the same. Nero looks like a stylized human, he looks I did when I was 15. but with more flawless skin and hair.

DMC is more anime-like than western actually. The oversized toy-looking swords, special magic arms, the emo girly hairstyles, the powerup transformations especially nero's in V which looks so faggoty and bishie and anime. Vergil and Dante's combination attack wouldn't be a magical anime ki blast shot if it was a western game and they were both shooting, it would be more like Resident Evil with it being actual bullets. Also a lot of anime tropes and mannerisms like the grunting, melodramatically repeating and yelling characters name in that distinct japanese way, getting beat up then glowing with aura and power up to turn the tide, most of the villains acting like tokusaku enemies, etc
