I mean it's not that hard to believe that there would still be plenty of Covies after the war, the retarded part is why the fuck are they elites? The trilogy showed that Elites were the least fanatical of the races AND got actively genocided by the prophets, wouldn't it make more to fight Brute remnants?

The problem with this game was they made the Forerunners alien and not human, not some random Covenant loyalist stragglers still fighting.

yeah all the halo 4 and beyond lore is completely retarded.

Literally everything they did with the forerunners between 3 and 4 is absolutely fucking stupid. Reading the books makes it clear they had no fucking idea what they were doing

>The forerunners have a higher order dimensional space that records all memories of their entire species permanently that they call the domain
>A major plot point is that they forgot a galactic level war wherein they wiped out the precursors. Its genuinely a huge mystery in the setting and the librarian has to leave the galaxy to go find out what happened

>Its noted and understood that being in an iso-sphere will protect you from the halo array activating. Several characters explicitly mention this
>Literally no other forerunners do this. The didact didnt even do it by choice

>The activation of the halo array will destroy all neural architecture (The precursors build stuff out of it) this includes the domain. The librarian specifically laments this loss
>Cortana simply "finds" the domain again in the later games even though it was destroyed.
>she also says its the fountain of youth for AI despite that not being even slightly what it was.

Still, what can you expect, they stopped caring about the canon they were making by the time halo reach came out. Its really funny how many books that game completely contradicts. And then later games talk about stuff that happened in the books like players should know about them.

No man, the elites are Chads so the grunts were like
>*uwu* big brother PWEASE *sademoji*
and they just had to go along with it.
No I didn't play the game

I am still mad at reach for retconning the origin of smart AI's.
Both because the book canon was cool and because it opened up the bullshit with evil Cortana.

Then again, the books have retarded shit as well, like the entire background of Spartan 3's and how they came to be.
Putting the asshat who hated the spartan program, tried to sabotage it, and got sent to the frontlines by Cortana's hacking in charge of things?????
Ignoring all the cool shit that went into Spartan 2's to make
>le magic drug just uh... does same thing because DRUG!
the new enhancement?
getting away with just straight up LYING about his goals for the program to seemingly just do his best to sabotage it further?!
Fuck all of that.

Same shit to a lesser degree with the idea that spartan 4 suits magically work to make them on the same physical level as spartan 2's in THEIR upgraded suits.

It makes even less sense for the Brutes to do it. They were just, well, brutes forced into servitude by the Covenant

Because Elites are many and only a few fought alongside humansto forge bonds. Jul'Mdama in particular, from the books, comes out as someone that uses religious zealotry to get his revenge (something that is completly retconned in the games).

To be fair, it was fucking retarded how Chief's armor transformed while he was in cryosleep in the first place. What was the excuse? Nanites or some gay shit?
