I liked TotK at first when you find the Depths for the first time and go
>Kino, what is this mysterious side-quest?
Then you realize it's a copy of the entire overworld map inverted, and everything is dark and looks like shit, and finding all the lightroots is the biggest gaming regret of my entire life, and I want at least 100 hours of my 215 hour playthrough back.

Baldur's Gate 3. I also enjoyed Thronebreaker witcher tale. But haven't played a game for more than 5 hours since then and it's been 4 months

The fact it mirrors the geography of the surface is what makes it kino. When you realize that you can find bloom towers below the shrines above, that's when the kinography hits. It's like they packed not only a second overworld, but a mirrored overworld, AND a microcosm of dark souls down there, AND to top it off there's dungeon temples below too. The fact they went so fucking hard is incredible to me.
