I quite enjoy Nuclear Throne and Redline Crooks.
I crave action and screenshake.

almost all of the games in this pic need to be flipped on both axis for the graph to be remotely accurate

A large amount on the right should be shifted left, at least when you acquire enough skill/knowledge.

isaac is easy though, rng will rarely kill you

I've been trying out Astrea recently and giving the final bosses critical chance is an unforgivably stupid design decision IMO. The run that I just lost was probably my own fault for not playing safe enough but I can see this becoming completely insufferable and out of the player's control at high difficulties so I might just stop playing this.

Just out of what I've played recently the roguelike I've been liking the most is Trials of Fire. I haven't played too much of it yet but I'm liking the game mechanics so far and I'm a sucker for the post apocalyptic survival feeling of the game too.

>spelunky 2 more "common person" friendly than spelunky 1
You dont even need to see the endless ocean to know thats a load of shit.
The first area alone is way steeper of a challenge to a new player than the first half of spelunky 1.

I was beating blue baby semi-consistently with 0 item pickups as a 15 year old when rebirth came out, this graph is shit.

You learn by dying to it a couple times.
You will also learn not to use plasma bean orbiting projectile.

Rogue isn't a Roguelike.

Noita needs to be dead center in the top (you can technically outdo the RNG but only if you want to spend several hours slowly crawling through every level)
Hades needs to be dead center in the bottom (its a very easy game and can be brute forced with meta progression stats if youre a giga shitter)

On low heat rng doesn't matter, true, but high heat you will absolutely get fucked by it.

STS and FTL definitely are up there.
Surprisingly accurate graph.
Gungeon is great too but damn I suck at it.
Anonymous No.717274703
had to look at it a second time before I saw noita, pretty ebin :DD
Anyway, putting rogue in the middle surrounded by these normie games on all sides is retarded and invalidates the entire chart
Anonymous No.717275075
>>717272121
Yeah and? Normies have good taste sometimes too. Not everything has to be some 2004 ASCII terminal-based masochist sim to be valid. Let people enjoy their dopamine loops in peace.

Azure Dreams has so much soul, zoomies probably won’t know what I’m talking about though.
