These creators are fine people and I like some of them but really they kinda distract me from actually playing the games in discussion. It's always better to play games yourself, blindly if possible, and build your independent opinion.

A counter-example to these talking heads would be someone like SNESdrunk who makes 5-minute reviews with no bullshit or spoilers, basically telling you whether you should play it or not. I really appreciate that, my favorite is his 9-part Arcade games series.

There's also AustinSV who makes highly detailed version comparisons of JRPGs and some others games. His videos are rare because of how much work he does. People should watch guys like them instead of essayists.
