there is nothing wrong with a kernel level access anticheat.

Found out R6, Fortnite and Elden Ring among other titles use Kernel Level access; however: I did not need to change mf BIOS settings for it to play.

lmao okay corporal anti-cheat, keep bootlicking for invasive software that does nothing but make legit users jump through hoops. next you’ll be telling us rootkits are good for gaming "experiences" too.

Third time I've seen this 'haha, the only people who don't like this invasive malware are Russian/Chinese/Indian' garbage.

Is this EA's paid marketing machine starting to spin up? If so, they really should spend more than 5 rupees per saar.
Anonymous No.717285918 >>717286845

It's not malware and it's not invasive. It's kernel level and requires secure boot, so Microsoft certified it.

Whatever they're paying you fags to try to downplay how cancerous this anti-cheat overreach is sticks out like a sore thumb here. Stay on leddit where people might actually listen to your bullshit.

>>717286582
Most cheating is done through untraceable hardware, dipshit. Kernel stuff is needless security risks because you're entrusting a bunch of EA jeets with your system's integrity.

You have tons of kernel level software installed on your PC right now. All of it was certified by Microsoft if secure boot is enabled. If you have secure boot disabled, then you might have uncertified kernel level software installed.

Are you the same retard repeating this line in the other thread? MS is an incompetent jeet colony if you haven't noticed. Them certifying things doesn't mean shit.

No, because I control and audit what programs are installed because I know basic PC cleanliness.

>Microsoft are good guys that know what they're doing

Anon, MS has bungled W11 so thoroughly they can't even give it away, to say nothing of how they've mismanaged their gaming division. The talent has long since left amidst the wave of H1b indians coming in who barely understand tech to begin with. MS is shit.

>>717288774
It didn't even used to be there until people like me got bit by buying games where the only mention of kernel anticheat shit was some sentence buried in the EULA. Publishers don't want this kind of information visible and I fucking doubt EA discloses it if you get the game through Origin.

It currently has the largest install base of any desktop OS
Anonymous No.717290367
Hows the single player?
Anonymous No.717290534 >>717291056
>>717289937
Windows has a 70% capture rate for the desktop OS market, so the current version they're shilling is always going to be the largest install base after it's been out for around a year.

Go look at the Steam hardware survey, though. A full third of people on Steam are refusing to switch to W11, and this is when W10 hits EOL in two months. Nobody likes W11 and MS can astroturf it all they want, but it's still an inferior pile of shit.

Yes, most people on Steam are using W11. That doesn't change the fact that W11 is shit, nor that MS has been desperate to bump its adoption numbers by effectively giving it away for free. A third of people preferring to use an EOL OS when you dangle a free upgrade in front of them does not imply quality in the new OS, you dipshit.

It's evil, but practically it makes no difference. Most people who play BF already meet the requirements, because they're using prebuilts and don't do much else with them besides maybe look at amazon on a better screen.
The few people it actually impacts, are people EA doesn't give a single shit about and won't miss.

>TPM
This is a physical hardware chip on your motherboard, you stupid motherfucker. One MS just decided you need to have for W11.
>elevated AI spying
Oh yeah? The older OSes were taking snapshots as part of Recall and harvesting your data to be used to train MS' AI platforms?
>control features stripped out
Reduced ability to change things via Control Panel screens. Fewer exposed options. Less user control unless you're a sysadmin and can do shit in the registry.
>awful vidya performance
Just do a basic internet search for 'windows 11 gaming performance' and you'll see a trend. It's also shit on battery life apparently, as was seen in that Asus Windows handheld.

MS is having its own competency crisis, anon. Such are the wages of sin when your MBAs decide to cut costs by hiring cheap, incompetent indians to replace the devs who knew what they were doing.

Minor correction, since most people who have it don't use a hardware chip. Most CPU's made after a certain date have it integrated, both intel and AMD. It's not something you need to go out of your way to install.
Anonymous No.717296037
Previously when I tried enabling UEFI and Secure Boot, it would cause PC to just have a black screen when booting requiring the CMOS battery to be removed to reset my MOBO.
Now that I've updated my MOBO, I can now enable UEFI and Secure Boot and my PC is able to boot up without a black screen on the BIOS startup. But now when it starts my Win10 installation, there is no display but there it's still booting and there's audio feedback that everything is running correctly.

Now I'm wondering what I need to do at this point. My harddrive is already set to GPT so that's running correctly, so I think I need to update my 2070 Super somehow to fix this.
