VI, although it suffers from a bad art style and its systems turning into a kind of micromanaging mess towards the end. V is also good but had the inverse problem where it's almost knuckle-draggingly simple, probably the best visuals in the entire franchise though. VII is dogshit.

Willem normally is pretty broken especially on water maps. Making him the leader of America would just give him worse uniques. Roosevelt of the netherlands wouldn't either too much aside from half-cost lighthouses. But you would lose on the dike which is a brilliant building for games that go long.

Yep. All in the name of improving performance in the late game. Which is now worse. Because they've also apparently done some performance-heavy adjustments to the AI. The same AI which cannot work with the new pop system. So now the AI implodes 30 years in and the game runs worse.

More cities is almost always better as long as it doesn't tank your economy. Along with that having lots of cities you should have lots of workers. >>717296161 shows I think 3 visible workers in 640AD, he should have around 20 and his entire island should be colonized by now.

There are 2 primary types of economy, cottage and specialist, while you can hybridize, it is fundamentally better to choose one.
Financial leaders obviously are big on cottages, and Philosophical leaders favor Specialists.
Cottage economy is based on making raw money icons and specialist is based on making as much food as you can and then running lots of specialists in your cities (Representation almost mandatory, Pyramids is huge)

Apologies to you also, I wasn't really trying to shit on your game I was just using it as an example. In this case 20 workers might actually be too much, but 15 is would be a good number. The reason you don't think a lot of this stuff is feasible is because your populations haven't grown anywhere near as much as they could if you focused on getting Hereditary Rule so that each military unit became the happiness you probably lack due to low resources, which would allow you to work way more tiles than you currently do, which would rapidly ramp into more unit output, both military, worker, and settler.
