Most people just aren't that creative and that's fine, I just fail to see the point in giving everyone these tools and creating a landfill of content is supposed to be a good idea. >>717281695 (OP)Yes. In fact, it should be mandatory, and the obsolete versions detroyed. By force. This is why everything has a backdoor built into it. And for any rogue physical copies, those which are not turned in voluntarily should receive a visit from the gestapo, and thrown in the gulag, until the debt from their economic terrorism is paid in full. Better work extra hard, food and board in the prison isn't cheap, and neither are the interest payments. Failure to meet your payments will result in additional punishment, and your family may be expected to make up the difference.
And this WILL happen in your lifetime.

Which begs the question, why would you pay an AI artist money on Patreon to generate content when you can just as easily pay for a subscription on a service and have unlimited generation for yourself? It makes no sense and that's why being an AI artist is doomed to fail, at least in a commercial sense.

I don't care and I care even less about videos other people have "made", it's like hearing a about their boring dreams.
It's gone from unimaginably advanced to played out and whatever within a 6 months. The sort of thing that I've spent a lifetime honing my skills towards made redundant, not just on a practical level but on a philosophical one. AI didn't make vieual art, it killed it as a concept.

>>717307317You're conflating being forced to draw in art classes as a child to drawing for fun which is what he was probably talking about.
The vast majority of humanity gets very little if any joy from drawing. They only do it unprompted when they're very young because it's a part of learning about the world. Then they grow out of the crayon phase and probably never do it again.

>>717301479You sort of can for still shots or photographs- take multiple images, or multiple frames of a video, and mesh 'em together to get the best parts of multiple images, be it dynamic range or less noise or sharpness and so on. People did it in darkrooms with manual enlargers 50 years ago and people did it in Photoshop 5 minutes ago, but it requires multiple source images or files, time, and actual effort, so it'll probably go the way of the dodo compared to "high detail, smooth skin, noise reduction, sharp, (masterpiece), (score:7), (score:8), super 35, ((high quality))".

>>717307653>>717307738I feel like you guys are either ancient boomers or autistic artists from private schools
Either way you are divorced from reality
Kids when they are bored pull out their phone. If they aren't allowed to do that they just nap.
The problem is that humans naturally value things by scarcity. Something that is easily achieved by essentially anyone has no value. All digital art will become worthless. Not as in you won't pay for it (you won't) but you will be completely switched off and disinterested by the concept of it. It'll just be like wallpaper.
>>717292401This is good. Well done, anon.
>>717281695 (OP)>>717281896Ai always existed, you just think little, tiny people evaluated all our inputs.
>>717281695 (OP)kek, they do that to get a version with updated copyright not to improve it. Hers how it works
>copyright is running out and the product is going to become public domain>remove as many copies of the original from online services as possible>create a shittier, uglier version with modern technology>this version has a new copyright date and you can sell it exclusively for a time>the free version people actually want is almost impossible to find now and buried in search algorithms by the new shit version
AI generated stuff is whatever to me, it will get better, but it just doesn't do it for me right now.
The problem that I have is more the attitude that this will "kill" artists. I think that human made art will still have its' own place, even just from the novelty of "This was made by a human" in a post AI dominated world. That, and the fact that AI datasets which algorithmically generates based on best fit solutions are never going to truly get the weird and wonderful niches or "out there" ideas. Again, just to not be called a luddite, I don't have anything against AI itself, but to claim it will remove humanity from art (This is a pro and anti AI talking point) is silly as fuck.
>>717307352I can't change your truth.

>>717307995>The problem that I have is more the attitude that this will "kill" artists.I don't think it will fully kill artists

>>717284453>Smartphones probably got the same ridicule when they were still a new experimental thingThey didn't. People quickly adopted mp3 players in the mid 2000s and then smartphones which did the same thing and many, MANY, other things. You weren't there, zoomer.

>>717301685Film is what makes it great. Part of the reason movies are such a fucking mess 90% of the time these days is because when you fuck up film craft it ranges from several hours or days of time editing to several hundreds of thousands of dollars doing reshoots depending on what you fucked up. Ergo, the artist puts more conscious effort into not fucking it up. It's built in. Don't get me wrong, digital media has enabled all sorts of geniuses to make great things they wouldn't have otherwise, but generally it makes the lowest common denominator even lower. The original art is a product of its time, and for that it's beautiful. Making it le heckin detailed doesn't do shit to improve it.
>>717308331drawing true photorealism is something basically no one will ever manage to do, even the greats of old, and that's fine, because the whole point isn't copying reality

>>717308051That's how the industry works. That this shit, ugly version is for a specific purpose doesn't change that. Another example is record companies applying pitch correction to old famous albums from the 50s and 60s and replacing the older versions on the official youtube channel.
