People are so fickle that if game awards weren't rigged to the highest bidder, they'd be going to whatever releases the week before voting opens. Which happens in autumn for some reason so all the holiday season releases are ineligible.
Really the awards should happen in like March of the following year, once everything is out, has had their mandatory launch period bug fix patches, and nothing has recency bias anymore.

just reached the divide, went into the forest layer but seeing it labeled as sub layer 600 and not 500 makes me think frozen layer was the next level in numerical order. anyway I think the game is fun, but it has the same problems as basically every modern nintendo game, that being too many collectables all over the place, and combat being too simple and easy.
