I think the worst thing is when you just don't know what happened to a developer. I was following a Dev on Ci-en and while the guy massively missed his estimated release date for a game by a year or so he was putting out weekly updates showing he was getting stuff done, and then he posted something about how he had to take a break for a bit because he was dealing with the death of a family member and then they proceed to never post again and people speculate that they may have killed themselves.
It's a real shame because I got bored and ending up digging into the trial version he had put out and he essentially had his entire main story line done and was just working on the erotic content.
