The combat was alright. Nothing amazing, but then again neither was Nier's. Less variety than Nier though because the game doesn't suddenly become a bullet hell, side scroller, or text adventure at a bunch of points like Nier does.
The world and narrative are definitely a MAJOR step down from Nier though. And so is the acting. 2B is supposed to act like an emotionless android and she still emotes better than Eve or Adam. The music is also a step down from Nier. Automata's soundtrack is some of the best music put into a game. Nothing from Stellar Blade was bad, but none of it was particularly memorable.
It was a fun game. I enjoyed it. But ultimately it just made me want more Nier instead. They should just get Yoko Taro to work on their next game. Then we can have all the Korean waifu quality attached to an actual good story.
