Why aren't you playing modded Minecraft?

I don't want to give my ID and let the government know I jerk it to Minecraft sex mods. I'd probably get arrested somehow.

Is there any mod that lets you make contraptions? Redstone can't even mine a block, and the flying machine designs using slimeball pistons and shit all seem like they're basically exploits.

>build a ritual circle in my basement (I dug down until I found a cave, and built a ladder)
>summon a beaver that lets me chop wood faster (I already have 500 logs in reserve according to my storage drawer)
>go back to bed
This is how I play modded and I wouldn't have it any other way

Whats a good shader pack? Ive been using ComplementaryReimagined bland i like the way it looks once you turn off all the "cinematic" bullshit everywhere except in a basic over world daytime where for some fucking reason the lighting turns everything piss fucking yellow.

Yeah at first I thought it would be a massive problem, but I remembered maps exist and it's pretty fun going around being a cartographer, especially when you find cool secret shit that spawns out there.

Microsoft ruined it. I've tried to get back into multiple times, modded and unmodded. It has never felt the same.

minecraft is one of those games where i want a save file that goes on for years but unless you pick a version and stop updating past it (which to be fair gets more and more tempting every day with nu-mojang's constant shitty updates) it's inevitable that at some point you'll have to give up several mods that are just forgotten about by the authors
