The new Mario Kart sucks and the journos sensed it but didn't want to ruin the rest of their year getting harassed by terminally online virgins so they gave it a mildly positive review. Meanwhile a majority of players who spent money on it realized it actually sucked and said. See Metaphor, Starfield, and Final Fantasy XVI for similar scenarios.
